I have a moral dialemma at the moment. I bought 'Nativity' DVD and its pre owned so is already unsealed and open. Its in the bedside drawer next to me and I could easily watch it, but its bought for all of us to watch at xmas.
it's only good parenting to watch a film before the children to make sure its suitable.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -

My hubby has the Samsung Galaxy Ace, he lost his first one, bought a second hand Iphone and actually sold it and bought another Ace. It is a touchscreen, an Android (means he can download loads of apps) and he adores it. It cost around £120 on the Three network on pay as you go. He prefers the 3 network as he tops up £15 a month and this gives him 300 minutes, 3000 texts and totally unlimited downloads and internet and believe me he spends a lot of time online.;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)0 -
You have all made me a bit Christmas crazy after finding this thread today! :xmassmile
I have started a list for present buying and have been on no end of websites looking at crafty type ideas. DH is fed up of my christmas chatter already so it looks like I will be on here a lot to chat to fellow christmas lovers
I'm Abi by the way, I'm 30 and live in Yorkshire. I like crafty type things, but often find that time runs out before I have chance to complete most of my good intentionsI have a DD who is 6, and I alternate Christmas's with her dad, but this is my year with her so am going to make it as magical as possible.
We are probably going to be spending christmas at home this year and have family round. Will be inviting the inlaws for a traditional christmas dinner on the weekend before christmas (22/23rd) and my family over on christmas day for DD's favourite - which is lasagne with all the trimmings :rotfl: So not exactly traditional, but we all like it.Married my lobster in July 2011

Hi thank you for the recommendation.
I had looked at that one and also the galaxy y too.
If anyone else has any recommendations i would be very grateful.
I think a few people will give him £10 in a card so I am hoping I can find a good deal, maybe earn some more survey money and help him get it when the time comes.Everything is always better after a cup of tea0 -

d question alert. Dd1 wants zoobles, squinkies and moshi monsters. Err, what exactly do thry do? Confused . Com. Lol x
l! X
Toys of choice in my house, unfortunately lol!
Squinkies are little squishible rubber figures you get in see through balls and they have lots of themes (Disney princess, barbie, spidermans, avengers) you also get 'dispensers' for them which are little playsets which store the Squinkies bubbles, then you can use a Squinkies penny to turn the lever and make them roll out, like a mini vending machine.
Zoobles are little plastic balls that have magnets in them so when placed on a metal surface or in their 'homes' they pop up to reveal the animal. These have become bigger now as there are lots of variations, like ones who have babies, ones who's hair you do, underwater themed sets, I'm sure they have little cars and things for them now too lol.
Moshi monsters are by far the biggest toy craze that's going on atm, with every shop almost stocking something Moshi! Started as an online virtual game where you adopt a monster, earn little pets for it (moshlings) play games, earn money etc. you can upgrade to the members where you pay a fee to get further in the games and access more, it's actually very good.
Moshi monster figures are plastic replicas of the pet moshlings you get online, and are collectible. You can get limited edition tins, 2, 5, 10, 20 packs (b&m have a 20 pack for bout £14 which is cheapest I've seen although its series one, we're now on series 4 :-o)
There's also a million other pieces of Moshi merchandise now, mega bloks, tree houses, zoo's, soft toys, torches, etc etc etc.
Think I should open a toy shop lol

Oh great then, more stuff to get sucked up the hoover! LOL! Thanks for filling me in everyone!
Can I ask roughly how much you soend on your kids? I'd like to do 80-100 on each. Its dd1's birthday 9 days before christmas (dammit prem baby lol) so have to really budget although I dont have anyone else to buy for. Just wondered what the norm is? My friend spends 500 on each of hers!!!! Yikes! x0 -
Hi new christmas folk who have joined today.
So much to read!!!
In reply to how much I spend on my DS. It depends really, with buying things throughout the year I lose track. I buy all the little things like £2 jigsaws etc when I see them then will prob spend £150 or so in the last 2-3months before xmas,,,,but last year was less as we had just moved.
Ive got so much work on this week, I havent had much time to look around. Next week Im spending my time doing some decorating. Bought DS a midsleep bed so he has more room to play so Ive got to paint the room he is going to be moving in. Then Im working my way throught the hall finishing the gloss work I started last week. I WILL GET THIS HOUSE ORGANISED!!!PPI Claims won £3000:j now free of all credit card debt after 10 years.
Will I win my Lloyds battle!!!
Currently saving for our wedding and what seems like a million other things":)0 -

My little boy isn't here yet but I know what we will spend on him next year due to our IVA we have to have this stuff planned and it will be £75 Birthday (inc day out/tea party with family) and £40 for Christmas. Obviously a 1 year old is cheaper to buy for than older children. But our spend came down to what we can sensibly budget/ afford - which is where I am going here....
Spend what you can afford to spend, not what you feel you should or what your friends spend or what your kids guilt you into spendingat the end of the day how many presents do we remember from childhood? I remember 2 - a Barbie Caravan because my Dad & Grandad spent all day building it :rotfl: and a Guitar because it wasn't what I wanted  that sounds awful (I was 7!) but what I do remember is the memories!! And I have very fond memories that my family created.
I hope this helps xEverything is always better after a cup of tea0
