Have just found these, I was thinking of a first Christmas message , but then thought how they might also be lovely to remember someone:
btw, this is first hyper link I've ever managed- I have a feeling I'm missing a much easier way!?* Ebay- 1 Bag a Day *0 -
Hi all,
Sorry to hear of your loss Kaymumof3.
Got 2 more Christmas presents today so that is sis and bil sorted, she said don't get them anything but picked her up some pjs (cannot help myself since I know she will have gotten us something) and made her a 'Jar of Nothing' that was from a link on here, and him some socks and a jar of humbugs changed label to say Bah Humbugs (also from here, though forgive me cannot remember who). That just leaves me with 5 people to sort, although I know gift for fil, just hoping it comes down in price nearer to Christmas.
Wilkinsons near us had a few small Christmas gifts out on the shelves, though it was mostly bare so am guessing its this week it all goes out.13 projects in 2013 0/130 -

What on earth! Are they collectors items or is it just someone trying to pull a fast one?:eek::eek:
I was told when a supplier runs out of an item or is awaiting stock, often they put the price up to an unthinkable amount to pay so it keeps the listing current, otherwise they have to pay extra fees and redo the listing. Just saves time and money doing it that way
Thanks to the tesco and boots toy sale we are basically done now. Have some foody bits to make and some items to sew but that's about it.
Need to swap a duplicate present at the disney store so going to get an animator doll for dd. Pj's can wait until a week before Christmas when hopefully disney store will do them around W6 each.
Need to order some bits and bobs to make our Christmas elfComping wishlist for 2017

Hi everyone, sorry Im going to have a long rambling catch up now!
chickywiggle-The snowman fridge is brilliant, so doing that!! Some people are very materialistic, your friend sounds a bit 'not in the real world' tbh. Who cares if you dont have a spare chair etc?! Some people are genuinely totally not aware of how some people struggle and are unfortunately very ignorant and tactless as a result. In a way I am glad I have/do struggle as this has made me aware of others situations and I can be more understanding. You're doing a great job.
Damzel_In_Distress-We love the buddies films too. We're also collecting Disney movie reward points, fab way of collecting disney movies! Must get Spooky buddies before halloween as we havent seen that one yet.
ShonaM-Me and OH dont normally have anything for breakfast (naughty) but DS usually just has cereal as its quick to do and eat. He can eat whatever choc/sweets are in his stocking too but if he doesnt have a solid breakfast he gets grumpy. I think we did have croissants last year actually and will probably get them again this year and bacon rolls! For dinner if we're at my mums we have several meats (chicken or turkey (altho we didnt last year and didnt really miss it) boiled bacon, beef and pork, roast potatoes, (mash too sometimes) various veg (not sure which as I dont eat them) yorkshires, pigs in blankets, stuffing and loads of gravy. For puds theres usually xmas pudding, several gateauxes/cheesecakes and xmas cake. Mum buys fizzy drinks/juices but no alcohol usually. Last year someone got a bottle of southern comfort as a gift and a few adults had a splash of that with coke at dinner. MIL does turkey, roast potatoes, stuffing (delish!) yorkshires, veg and gravy. For puds its gateaux/xmas pudding. No alcohol at MILS, she usually gets loads of cans of coke for the benefit of us/bils/sils!
sirmonk-Id give them the choice of wheether they want the toys to stay at yours or taking them home. This is what we do with the toys MIL gives DS. Some he brings home but some he chooses to leave there. Could you scour charity shops/car boots/ebay/facebook for some toys to stay at yours?
buggalugs-You did make me smile, Sparkle and Shiiiine!Hope you feel better now.
BBTHREE: Sorry you have to have surgery again.I hope you make a speedy recovery and feel better soon. x
ReformedShopaholic-LOVE the Bah Humbugs idea! Must think of someone to do that for hehe!
I had an unexpected Quidco payment of £28.50 today so obviously went christmas shopping!I got:
Hannah Montana perfume £5.62 (I got £5 of boots points back so worked out at 62p. I was buying around £5 worth of stuff anyway and bought those with the points. This is a small pressie for OHs niece)
3 x Dr who pens for DS/Me/brother
Dr Who flannel
Ben 10 mini shower gel
Moshi monster teddy for my niece
2 gingerbread house moneyboxes (poundland only had a few bits out but enough to satisy my christmas craving!)
Family Guy socks
Spongebob socks
2 x photo pens for my nan and OH
2 x rattles for my nephew
Sweets for my sisters hamper, she likes Mars planets so grabbed them when i saw them and just realised the packaging is black so will fit in with the black twilight theme perfectly.
Notebooks for shoeboxes
Pack of cars for shoebox
Crayons for shoeboxes
Hairbrush for shoebox
2 x giant 3D posters The Simpsons and a campervan
Think that was it lol! Wilkinsons had half a row of xmas pressies, as did B&M. I cant wait for the decorations to go on sale, thats my favourite part! :j Going to my mums tomorrow so will drive her crazy with christmas talk.'They only had one cow!'0 -
Hi moneysavingmumofone
I cant take the credit for the humbugs, saw it on here pages and pages ago. Though I did ask around everyone in the family until I found someone that likes them so that I could do it haha, just got lucky that it was bil as he is always complaining about christmas and saying he would like to go away on holiday and not bother.13 projects in 2013 0/130 -
BIG :grouphug: to all who need it.
I have to say when I read about all the stuff life throws at you I seem soo stupid for getting wound up and ranting over little non-important things. As Opee said its 101 days (not including today) my kids work it out as 102 sleeps
we always count sleeps.Hubby has bought me a xmas book to read whilst I am laid up "Christmas Magic by Cathy Kelly". He actually went into Waterstones and told them that his wife is obsessed with xmas and could they recommend a book :rotfl:

I'm not recommending these BTW, check reviews before buying!
just in time.
I have 1 chapter left in Madeline Wickham (sophie Kinsella in disguise) "wedding girl" - which typically was fantastic and highly recommended - and was thinking i need a wintry/ christmas book to start next.
Tho I should't buy any more books so gonna look thro my stash and hope I have one. If not might have to treat myself.
I read a fab book last year (i think it was) but am stumped to the name and author which makes searching for it quite tricky. "The three day rule" by Josie Lloyd and Emyln Rees linky
It had a light blue cover. the girl on the front was making a snow angel. I am sure it had the word three or third or something similar in the title.
The girl basically ended up on an island and met a bloke in a pub and it was really not much of a storyline now i try to remember it but when you are reading you can get lost in it and its cosy and loving and christmassy and you can feel the log fire.
Anyone?
ETA: I have most of Terry Pratchetts Discworld books on my shelf to read but have read Hogswatch and Wintersmith - anyone know if any of the others are wintry/ christmassy?loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
Just in case anyone is near me Maidenhead have a free event on 8th december where they have real reindeer and a lantern procession, not many details at the mo. http://www.enjoymaidenhead.com/events-and-offers/events/reindeer-and-santa-on-maidenhead-high-street.aspx It was magical being so near them last year.
Also Rusilip Lido do special Santa trains which are lovely. TBH the special effects arent up to much lol but its a lovely (cheap) journey with mince pies/tea included and a gift for your child. Its lovely going through the woods in the lovely cold winter air and seeing Father Christmas waving at the station as you pull in.No details are up yet but should be after the halloween event is over (how scary does that look!!) http://www.ruisliplidorailway.org/events
Also Windsor have a gorgeous old fashioned merry go round and ice skating.'They only had one cow!'0 -
have just found this book - the christmas cookie club - reminded me of the cookie exchange discussed earlier...........
seems quite an old book so lots of bargain copies to pick up (goes off to buy hers before the rush)loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0
