    Hi All

Things have taken a bit of a downward turn for me. I am on quite strong pain meds (and it looks like I will be having day surgery - again!) and so apologies if I can't remember names and misquote people and just have a general ramble....

My3girls - As others have mentioned Argos usually reduce the advents after Dec 1st (which was how DS got his first ever Lego one - which I got for a tenner), but when I carried on reading I saw you donated the money and that was a lovely and incredibly generous thing to do.

Chickywiggle - I love your posts, you are full of amazing ideas and positivity and I hope your year improves.

Gleek - Hey Hey you are famous. You started all this, and now its reached Martins newsletter.

Its DSs birthday, and other relatives have bought him for his birthday what I have bought him for xmas. So I am going to have to rethink my xmas list now so that his presents can be utilised elsewhere, and give the spare bits to the local toy appeal, the school xmas fair.

Hubby has bought me a xmas book to read whilst I am laid up "Christmas Magic by Cathy Kelly". He actually went into Waterstones and told them that his wife is obsessed with xmas and could they recommend a book :rotfl:
    Aims for 2014
Drink a glass of water a day, Empty handbag at least once a week, Continue "not putting things off" and tackle things head on, Treasure people around me, Stay healthy and well away from hospitals, Continue to declutter/decorate house slowly and not get stressed because I can't do everything at once. :D

am so sorry to hear of your loss, lost my beloved fil a few years ago suddenly too and understand how you must be feeling, I think the idea of a star for the tree is wonderful - I have a slice of pannetone and a glass of bubbly to toast my late fil every Christmas, he always gave us those so it reminds us of him. Take care of yourself xxx

what a lovely hubby!!! I hope you are feeling better soon xx
  • for those who have ordered Rudolph Monopoly from Foyles.

Still showing as 'order being processed' so I called to check last night, they said there had been some kind of glitch and the manager had sorted it, so the item (he kept saying book lol! bless him!) was only just ordered from the USA, so will take another 5 days or so for them to get it, before it's dispatched. Just in case, like me, you wondered why no dispatch yet.

Tiny bit unimpressed that didnt get an email to let me know of the delay, not in a rush or anything but would be good to have little heads up why something not sent a week after ordering, but heyho!

Hi, pretty new here but getting v excited about Christmas & all the preparations :j.

Just though I'd post in case there are any MSE peeps in & around the North East. The Weardale railway are having the Polar Express train over the Christmas period. It looks absolutely gorgeous & it's the first time it's been in the UK. If anyone is booking it, don't try in an iPad because it fibs & tells you there's no availability. I can't wait :j

    I'm new so can't post link but it's -

    W w w. Weardale railway. Com / polar _ express

Don't know if someone can link this properly & hope it's ok to post!

Hope this helps someone! It's the type of thing I'm usually oblivious to until after the event or until its sold out.

A fellow North Eastener!!! Ive been thinking about going on that with the DS the last few years but I think this year we will!! oooo Im so excited!!! x
