Does everyone get an advent calendar each for their kids then?
When I was younger we always shared an advent calendar between us and took turns opening a window. It was more exciting then, when it was your turn.
I thought that was normal. Evidently not!
I think I still have last years empty tray to make
xmas shaped chocs!1,2 & 5p: Christmas day food £9.31
10 & 20p: misc savings £2.70
50p: Christmas presents £3.50
£2: holidays £2.000 -
I just bought some for DD in Poundland today.....really good dates on them too but if the ones on amazon are the big bags it will be better value for those ones as works out around 68p a bag
EDT: The ones in poundland are the big share bags......just seen on amazon they're the 35g bags so poundland could be the best option if you have one nearby?
thank you so much!! we dont have a Poundland (gggrrrr!) but there is one near my mum and one not far from hubby's work, so will dispatch them!0 -
Ooooh , I have been feeling really grotty the last few days ( balance problem etc ) and tonight I watched Nativity!!! It was wonderful!!! Sparkle and Shine

I am stressing a bit now about the baby because although I have the majority of stuff and the cot up and all of that i keep reading conflicting advice on bottle feeding, dont know if i need to get a bottle warmer, need a couple of bits to buy still and need money for the hospital car park, petrol, credit for hubbys phone etc etc etc and i feel like i am running out of time.
.
PM me your address and I will send you a brand new bottle warmer. We bought one from Boots to have as a spare in my Mum's and it was never used. I would be glad that someone else would get use from it....xx;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)0 -
ChirpyChick, I never bothered with a bottle warmer and friends who bought them for first baby never used them at all - I just stood bottle in bowl or saucepan of hot water and kept shaking it (sometimes in the night I used microwave for few seconds at a time, kept shaking it, checked on back of hand etc, I know you arent menat to due to hot spots but if you shake it really well I don't see an issue, both mine never got milk that was too hot any way!) I honestly feel it's one of those things you can skip IMO.
We have Christmas Muffins for breakfast, which are just bacon and egg muffins, tea and fruit - and Quality Street of course!usual Christmas dinner and then pick at party/buffet stuff in evening, we have an M&S buffet Christmas Eve which the kids come with me and help to choose, it's one of their favourite Christmas traditions
I save Valued Opinions and points vouchers for the M&S food all year.
Mine have a chocolate advent calendar each in the morning (helps get them out of bed!) and the advent calendar from Disney which is a chest of drawers type in teh evening, which I put little gifts in for them both0 -

I use these all the time... they're preowned but never had a problem with playback and always in perfect condition. For 50p I might give it a shot too

If you didn't want anything else there is a limit for free postage then check out the stores on the side and it'll tell you where it's in stock.
Thanks for this, I didn't think of cex and if i get a few dvds the postage will be so much cheaper, all the ones i want off amazon have individual postage prices so cex would work out much better!MarilynMonroe wrote: »There was a film that always seemed to be on when I was a kid I loved. It had Diana Dors in and there were these kids who saw ghosts and there was a big fire at the end in a posh house. I don't even think it was christmassy, just on then, but it always had me enthrawled. I havn't seen it for maybe 25 years or more! I dont know what it's called but I loved it.MarilynMonroe wrote: »It's 1p on Amazon plus £1.26 postage

I have scanned through the posts and have already got lots of ideas for my wee family. I love Christmas especially buying all the wee stocking fillers and cosy nights in with a box of chocs. My task this week is to find a soft toy elf so I can start the elf tradition with my boys who are 15 months and 4. x
I ended up finding one in 'home sense' which is the sister company of tk max. Its about 13 inches long and is absolutely beautiful and it only cost £9.99.
Just thought i'd mention it so you know somewhere you can look for one when they get the xmas stock out.:)chirpychick wrote: »My husband loves the snowman film, i think i must be the only person in the world that finds it really boring.Christmas Nightmare..........................
DD1 has found out there is a moshi monsters advent calendar where they have 'twistmas' and winter wonderland moshlings... its £25!!!!!
She said she will forfeit christmas presents to get it, but the other 2 love moshi's also so i couldn't get her one without the others and i'm damned if i'm spending £75 on advent calendars:eek:
what do i do?!
Failing that, could you not suggest that they share one? That way they all get moshi's out of it, they could each have a turn each day.:)
Failing that (again), ask the others about other advent calenders they may like, There are LOADS of toy based advent calenders on offer on amazon etc at the moment fairly cheap, you never know, they might find something cheaper that they would want even more!
Sorry for my novel sized ramble everyone! I could probably write more but i'll shush now,I need to go to bed so i can be one day closer to christmasHaving a coke with youis even more fun than going to San Sebastian, Irun, Hendaye, Biarritz, Bayonne
or being sick to my stomach on the Travesera de Gracia in Barcelona0 -

Although they haven't got them on site yet, (no christmas stuff yet) I got DS one from here last year. I think it was about £19 (poss with postage) and the same one was more than double that in Selfridges.
Would be worth checking this site as I remember they had lots of christmas loveliness last year.
