  • For the baby what about buying a money box? I do also like your blanket idea. A highchair toy? I can't think of anything else :rotfl:

For your sister could you make her a girlie night hamper? a couple of chick flicks, popcorn, drink, facemask, nail file, body butter that kind of thing?

thanks she got about 4 money boxes when she was born and at babyshower as she didnt find out what she was having!! a haighchair toys sounds good though never even thought of that so tahnkyou!!

my sister is living with her boyfriend at the moment and they do everything together and he hates chick flicks although that could be an idea as i know she is staying at my mums round xmas so could do her and my mum one and put homemade voucher in for a takeaway and we could have a girly night in when she is down =) thanks for that!!

  • for info carlamarie this is where my Snowman notelets came from (but they don't seem to be doing them this year - however they haven't got a specific Christmas section this year so maybe they'll be added later).

Lots of other christmas bits tho - stampers, sticker, pencils, reward cards etc (and you don't have to be a teacher to buy from therm)

ooh thanks chicky, i always make the kids up a little bag/box of christmas stationary at the start of dec, just things like colouring books, pens, stickers, stamps etc so i shall have a good look on this site tomorow when ive more time!

Well ladies I've FINALLY got round to sorting my Christmas cupboard.....unfortunately it's now BULGING and I can't fit anymore in there - so much so I've had to start on a new cupboard :o which means my darling OH will be thrilled when he finishes work to find that Christmas cheer has now spread to his wardrobe too :rotfl:

sorry got abit excited with the Smilies!!!

As of this week I've decided to start getting a couple of Christmas food bits (non-perishables) alongside my normal weekly shop in the hopes that buying just one or 2 extras each week I won't notice the money disappearing and hopefully will save me some pennies when I have to do the dreaded "Christmas Shop" - only problem is I have no idea what I could be getting in.......anybody wanna help me come with some ideas? It'd be very much appreciated!!!! :T

wow that looks so organised and neat!
a word of warning if i may though, that monster mask (which if u ask me is a koala!) if its for your own kids, use different paints or aprons/old clothes!
from experience, they stain really bad. the other mask they do (im guessing theyre the ones from wilkos) which is just like a normal face mask has better paints which doesnt stain!

food wise, twiglets, cheesy footballs, drinks, chocs, biscuits, crisps, crackers, will all keep

  • wow at the super neat Christmas cupboard!

hope things are going ok on the house move front, PrincessKitty!

ChirpyChick, I sympathise, generally I find there is always somebody or some organisation in my life who make it their mission to annoy me by being incompetent or just annoying!

got my KitKats  4 pack on offer in Sainsburys, also they have got their first lot of Christmas stuff in (heard the store manager talking to colleague about the warehouse being full of Christmas stuff and it's being moved in next week, not before time!) anyway, on the sweets tubes they do for stockings, this year there is a Kinder Bueno tube ... those little mini's would be good for candy cane sleighs I think?

Ive got tin of choccies and biscuits so far, but over next few weeks I will try and get After 8's, Ferrero Rocher, Matchmakers and chocolate Brazils and Roses, depending what early offers there are, also dates, nuts, pickles and cheese biscuits. I start the stuff I can freeze in November, usually from M&S such as stuffing and sausages with bacon, I get the turkey crown late November from there as they usually have 20% off for a week when stock first comes in
  • went in town today as i heard that boots and tescos were having toy sale and both shops had very little left :(

however i did get ds2 a jungle junction toy from boots for £2.50 and a fireman sam magnetic scribbler for £5 from tescos.
the scribbler was the last thing on his list, so he is offically finished :T:T:T
well, apart from his xmas eve hamper, but thats a different day so it doesnt count :rotfl:

dont think i will be getting much this month as although its pay day tomorrow, i have my dad, stepdad, oldest brother and nephews birthdays this month and little brothers at the beginning of next month

OPEE92 - I absolutely love your pressie cupboard. I need one of those, its incredibly organised.

I am also concentrating on sneaking away a few food items away each week to save the financial pressure when we get to the "big shop"

I have bought 2 tins of biscuits, 2 Swizells Sweetshop tins and 2 packs of stuffing so far. I am keeping my eye for an offer on Bucks Fizz/Cava, and M&S normally have an offer around Oct/Nov.

I also get Pickles/beetroot from M&S as well as they usually have a buy one get one free offer around the same time (and they look better out than my usual Asda smartprice ones
Could you not ask some of the rest of your family to contribute to it, if my OH wants something big, more than I can afford, I get my parents, his mum brothers/IL, sister/IL and grandparents etc to all give me the money they would normally give/buy something with, normally they are only too keen as it means they don't have to think what to buy!
    Hope this helps

Hi CornishOrchid, Thanks for the suggestion. Not sure if we could do this as my parents are no longer around, and his family may or may not be doing secret santa, so will only contribute £15 (the secret santa budget)

I am not 100% clear on what to do yet. I am thinking if I can scrabble around and get the money together then I won't give him the watch and will save that for his next birthday or is that being mean?
    Aims for 2014
Drink a glass of water a day, Empty handbag at least once a week, Continue "not putting things off" and tackle things head on, Treasure people around me, Stay healthy and well away from hospitals, Continue to declutter/decorate house slowly and not get stressed because I can't do everything at once. :D

i think giving him the watch for his birthday is a great idea as the kindel fine is quite expensive anyways!! but it is completly upto you what you decided to do

ooh sounds like a great plan!!

this reminded me - Morrisons are doing a 4 pack of 4 finger kit kats for £1 currently... however I have eaten 2 today and so has hubby! :rotfl: I dont think it is wise for moi to stock up :p
Everything is always better after a cup of tea
  • Well I've spent my evening looking at dvd's I want to watch over the xmas period.
I have a lot on a hard drive, However this has decided that it hates me and no longer wishes to work so i have lost them all :(

I thought i was being quite choosy on amazon, but then realised i have actually added 42 to my basket :rotfl:
I think i'll have to have another look through and pick the one's i truly can't live without, even though they are all used i don't think the purse strings can quite stretch to that lol!
Although all 42 only came to £39.97! So not actually that bad.... Unless you include individual postage in which case i'd be bankrupt ! :D

Anyone have any good xmas film recommendations? One's that aren't that common?
I miss having movies 24 on the old sky box, they had non stop made for tv xmas films on that were actually quite nice to watch:(
    Having a coke with you
is even more fun than going to San Sebastian, Irun, Hendaye, Biarritz, Bayonne
or being sick to my stomach on the Travesera de Gracia in Barcelona

wow! just caught up with this thread, but it's lovely reading through it all! I grabbed a little pink polka dot toiletries bag from Tesco at the weekend for my mum :)

I've been sitting here sniffing my cinnamon bun, black cherry and cinnamon candles...it's taken me straight into christmas mood! :D
