I know this isn't a Christmas related although it kinda is! I want to make my sister a scrapbook for Xmas my question is do you guys know any good places to get a nice but not too pricey scrapbook etc from?
Do you have The Range near you? I find they are good for scrapbooks and craft supplies.
I've decided on quite a few presents I'm making. I've bought some great little test tube shot holders and I'm going to make flavoured vodka to put in those. I'm going to make a set of 5 and make a gift box/stand to present them in, a bit like this - http://goldcatsstampingheaven.blogspot.co.uk/2008/12/test-tube-gifts.html
I'm doing the vodkas for my brother, brother-in-law and sister-in-law.
I'm also making a Christmas Treats mini hamper for my eldest son, niece and 3 nephews. It's going to have things like marshmallow snowmen, reindeer noses, snowman poo. I've got most of the ideas from Pinterest - here's the link to my board in case it's useful to anyone:

Finally (so far) I'm making my 4 year old a 'red' hamper! He loves the colour red (mainly due to red power ranger). We have an argument every day as he wants to wear red tops or socks constantly! I've got him a plain red top but need other ideas. I'll probably get him a red toothbrush and try to find some red socks but what else? Hopefully there will be loads of red things in the run up to ChristmasMaking money for Christmas 2012!0 -

This made me laugh because my youngest dd (3.5) is exactly the same! We have dedicated 'red' drawers and it's a struggle to get her to wear anything but!! Took me ages to convince her to wear white socks but other than that it's aaaalll red! Lol.
Red basket is a good idea, there will be lots of red before Xmas and you can line the basket/box with red tinsel. Red backpack, red gloves/hat, red bubble bath (or one of those fizzes that turn the bath water red) red pants, red teddy? Sure theres lots of ideas!
Kayandy - past few months I've been making paper bag mini albums, they are sooo fun and easy to do and can be as cheap as you want them to be. Definitely have the wow factor, YouTube have some great videos.

SugarSpun I've been saving like mad ( in the hope that if I've got ticket money/flights booked it'll make me feel better) and have been searching flights for weeks. I've not seen anything as cheap as your friend tho:( was it a one way ticket?
It was a return with KLM (Edit: Qatar). Maybe look at all European cities that Easyjet/Ryanair fly to from your local airport, you could fly in the day before and have a lovely overnight before your big flight and it might still work out cheaper.I'll probably get him a red toothbrush and try to find some red socks but what else? Maybe some red underwear so even on days where he is supposed to be wearing something smart he'll know his undies are red?Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Why don't you have a look on ebay etc for some red lego, it would provide endless hours of fun.0 -

I noticed in Morrisons yesterday that they had tubes of red body paint (soap) for in the bath. You could also get some Tinti stuff - they do things that turn the bath water red. What about red Gelli bath?

Rosygirl what good news :-) I'm delighted for you, it's time to enjoy all your Christmas preperations now knowing you will be able to relax and enjoy.
Thank you everybody for your kindness it really has helped :-)
I've been to Bents today ( I remember we've chatted about it before) it a fabulous garden centre, they are just starting to put their Christmas range out. I smell Christmas in the air:-)
Has anybody seen Cadbury dairy milk miniatures, think that was their name. Bents had individual chocolates with letters on to make names or wishes, some in Beatrix Potter papers etc I though I could "pay homage" and borrow the idea with those miniatures if I could find them. Any ideas?
I love the candy sleigh idea too think that's another thing I could be getting on with:) I was chatting to my DH this evening and decided I need to be doing something instead of thinking what time it is in Perth and what are they up too! Christmas might just be the thing I'm looking for as a distraction and try to start living again doing different things. Life isn't over its just different (and ever so empty) xxx
Thank you Nanamia and everyone for your good wishes. it sounds silly when I don't know anyone personally, but it is really appreciated.
I got some of those chocolate letters to spell out my sons' names for their stockings last year. I remember going into a state of panic when we went back to the garden centre in case they saw the display and rumbled me! :rotfl:
Nanamia, a good Christmas project would be trying to find good lightweight pressies that won't need an extra mortgage to send to Oz in the post!
One of my best friends lives in Perth and it is always a challenge to find things for her children. Small books and tshirts seem to be favourites with both of us.* Ebay- 1 Bag a Day *0 -
