    congratulations! :)

I popped into Morrisons the other day to look at the christmas presents and I wasn't impressed with their pricing!!

Everything seems to be either £4 or £8 which makes me wonder which items aren't really value for money?!

For example there was a radox spa set for £8 but then also an unbranded cheaper type spa set for the same price?! The lady putting the things out told me they're going to do a 3 for £10 deal (or something like that)...but still, I wasn't impressed to be honest so I didn't pick up anything..

However, tomorrow is my shopping trip into town so I'm hoping to get some things :)
  • wow ur all getting on great!! i made a start yesterday had a wander round town nothing in superdrug clearence, no toys in boots :/

but my bargins this week were xmas marshmellow figures 8 in a tray 25p each from £1land (reduced bin) bbe date fine so goin in the xmas eve hamper :)

the works had a sale on summer toys and i brought 2 of these

and i put £2 on iceland saver stamps so up to £14 with that now :T
  • Hello everyone!
You can't even disappear for a day here without missing pages and pages of chat! I'm all caught up now but can't possibly reply to everything i want to, so ill just say hello again to yet more new people, its lovely to have you :D and congratulations to all those with baby news.
Thanks to everyone else for all the lovely idea's , The post with the gift bag idea sounds lovely (ive forgot who sorry!!) and i hope it all ends up as lovely as it sounds and please keep us updated on what you do so we can pinch your ideas :D
Also the post about the xmas sleigh's made out of chocolate, It looks wonderful, I normally give my uncles wife a token chocolate gift as she does with me and this would put a lovely spin on it and make it look really special.

I managed to get DS some toys in the tesco sale today that he's wanted for a while but i didn't think i'd be able to afford, but i got him 8 things that would of cost £77 ish previously  For £18.87! :j So i'm really really happy and he will be too, If no one's been to check their local tesco yet, i would go! One of the people working told me pretty much everything will be getting reduced over the weekend, and at 75% off which is amazing!

I went in B&M today as well and they have a few reduced bits in the confectionery isle that would be great for xmas eve hampers for kids, Spongebob bubble gum ball machines for 50p down from £2.99 , Disney princess chocolates in box for 19p , Loads of hello kitty stuff and generator rex stuff such as tins of marshmellows and biscuits etc all for around 69p instead of £2.99!.. A few more but my memory fails me at the moment, its been a long day lol!
    Having a coke with you
is even more fun than going to San Sebastian, Irun, Hendaye, Biarritz, Bayonne
or being sick to my stomach on the Travesera de Gracia in Barcelona

I'm unsure whether I should be buying presents for the OH's family this year? We're both in uni and it'll will have been 14 months by christmas although we were best friends for a year and I get on really well with his mum. I feel like I should as we've already discussed moving in together after uni properly (we live together during term time now but in a house with our friends) and I get on with them. But then I wouldn't know what to get if I did. Thoughts anybody?

Nanamia KLM currently have some very cheap (for Aus) fares - a friend of mine booked Munich to Perth for €533 (had found one for €488 but it was the wrong day). Would a money-raising challenge maybe be something that might make things easier for you?

han6149 I used to send my ex home for Christmas with a box of homemade biscuits for his family. Cute and thoughtful but inexpensive :)

    Congratulations auntie chirpychick!

I hope all the ladies having C-sections are well enough afterwards to do their wrapping. I remember walking around with a pillow clutched to my abdominal regions, it felt like the only thing holding my intestines in at times.

All the Christmas prep on my list was done this week, but my household list suffered a bit

Back on top of it today. Household mail filing system first up.

    Three gifts left to buy

another one for the Christmas Book list - Santa's Letters.
picked it up on 3 for £1 in a charity shop, read it to DS1 last night and he loved it.

looks as if it's out of print now (lots of others with same name) but can get 2nd hand on amazon.
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:
  • hows this for an idea in wrapping up chocolate instead of a tin, hamper, selection box?

Hello everyone, i have been lurking this thread for a few days, but this idea has made me come out of luckdom, thanks for that.

I am determined to make this Christmas a great one, and am loving all your ideas.

Has anyone thought of what chocolate bars could be used to top the kit kat, i am struggling as presumably they have to be a size of the width of kit kat.
£2015 in 2015 (Although actual goal is £10 a day)

I was thinking of club biscuits, but maybe freddos or the cadburys elves, or there are the kinder hippo ones, but they contain nuts so be carefull who you give them too!
Any one else have any ideas?

if you google "candy sleighs" and look at the images there are a few ideas.
