I'm unsure whether I should be buying presents for the OH's family this year? We're both in uni and it'll will have been 14 months by christmas although we were best friends for a year and I get on really well with his mum. I feel like I should as we've already discussed moving in together after uni properly (we live together during term time now but in a house with our friends) and I get on with them. But then I wouldn't know what to get if I did. Thoughts anybody?

I'd keep it really simple and just get a box/tin of chocolates or a bottle of wine for them as a family.

  • Haven't posted for a few days as have been worried about an appointment with my consultant that I had yesterday, but have been reading everything.

Anyway, I hope you don't mind but I wanted to share my good news that, apart from some meds, I don't need any more treatment and can get on with actually looking forward to Christmas rather than buying and planning but not knowing what would be going on by then. :j:j:j

I have been putting off sorting out my stashed packages and lists, but will really enjoy doing it next week now when the boys are at school.

Sending hugs and congratulations to all those that have opened their hearts or told us their news. :)
It has been quite a week as I also got a new great nephew this week (I'm not that old, just the baby of the family so my nephews and nieces are nearer my age) :rotfl:
Hope everyone has a good weekend, hopefully DH will take me into town later (can't drive yet and no buses here) for a look in the pound shop and to pick up my M&S sale bargains. Will report back if I see any goodies. ;)

Sorry if that was a bit rambly!

to all the ladies having c sections the best piece of advice i got was when you get on your feet afterwards stand up straight , it feels natural to hunch over protecting your tummy but its not good for you , i managed to get out of hospital a day early leaving some mums who had had theirs days before me still there.

re christmas ive picked up a champagne shaped bottle full of bubble bath for dds pamper hamper and i bought her the red studded bag she saw a few weeks ago but was too tight to buy herself ! we have decided to get her a kindle as her main pressie just going to wait until the kindle fire is out and see what people make of it.

  • Hi, I staretd my Xmas shopping Boxing day last year and have bought all year through when I've seen bargains, only thing is my daughter kept getting things meant for xmas doh!

Just really got to get her a stocking and Xmas Eve pressies now. May or may not get her something big/main... there isnt anything she needs though.

*I'm making up a hamper for her dad of clothes and toiletries and then odd presents he really wants.
So far for his hamper got long johns, 5 pairs of socks and 3 pairs of knicks. Going to have a look at asda and tesco online and see what I can find cheap.

*Going to start filling a box up of Xmas food.

    * Bought 3 cat print xmas bags the other day for the cats presents.

Hello everyone, i have been lurking this thread for a few days, but this idea has made me come out of luckdom, thanks for that.

I am determined to make this Christmas a great one, and am loving all your ideas.

Has anyone thought of what chocolate bars could be used to top the kit kat, i am struggling as presumably they have to be a size of the width of kit kat.

What about Cadbury Wishes, Cadbury Elves, mini lindt reindeer?

    Congratulations, really pleased for you!!

Question: Does anyone else ever buy way in advance and then finish but then come up with a great idea for someone they have already brought for? If so, do you save the idea for their Birthday/next Christmas or do you give them extra?

I am going to save my idea for next Christmas but I wondered what everyone else did?
