  • Technically not christmas related but my best friend is about to turn 21 and just got engaged to her OH of 5 years. Was thinking of getting a wedding magazine subscription and seeing as I've never used/read one I was wondering which is the best one to get?
  • I haven't seen Nativity either, Ex OH watched it when it first came out on dvd without me one night whilst i was out then refused to watch it again! Pffft! I'll have to see how much it is pre owned on amazon.
They seem to have some good prices on used Dvd's lately, I got DS a dvd he's wanted for ages for 1p at weekend! with only £1.19 postage, so i was really chuffed with the end price :D
    Having a coke with you
is even more fun than going to San Sebastian, Irun, Hendaye, Biarritz, Bayonne
or being sick to my stomach on the Travesera de Gracia in Barcelona

  • morning! popped into Sainsburys, no Chrsitmas stuff yet but they did have a display right inside the door with Quality Street tins with 'special offer' but no price on (what is the point of that!?) so I checked at CS and the girl said 'pffft .. it's that time of year again!' miserable cow lol! and thank heavens for it as far as Im concerned, thoroughly miserable with the kids gone back and holidays over and trying really hard to pull myself together, get on with work, pressies and planning etc, ban the Early-Christmas-Miseryguts I say!

anyway - have tin of QS for the Christmas cupboard, £5 but used £2.50 nectar points, also got some McVities choccy biccies for the cupboard as they are BOGOF, so made a little start on the foody treats! :)

have 2.50 Amazon voucher from TopCashback and £2 to go to get another £10 from Valued Opinions, so waiting for that to get a book for DS that I know she will love :) I think I will get Nativity as well as never seen it and heard so many good things!
  • How do you have the restraint to buy choccies and biscuits and keep them in the cupboard!? They would play on my mind then I'd scoff the lot!

It's never a bargain for me as sooner or later they have to be replaced! :o

ah ..its more that the cupboard is so full of boxes and bags, decs etc that I put them in a box where I can't get at them as so much to move first! :rotfl: also its ok if the kids and OH (hes the worst!) don't know they are there! I have been known to ferret out some orange Matchmakers in November when its a miserable night and we have no chocolate in the house tho! :D
  • i've got a lunchbox full of the little choc penguins, lollies, elves, snowballs atm,. its full up! so need to find a bigger lunchbox lol idea is to get a few bits each week to store in it.. until i've got enough to use with the elf and in stockings.. shouldn't take too long lol

I've nearly got everything sorted for our elf visitor. and very nearly finished totally xmas pressie shopping (i keep seeing more)

Like in tescos today they had a number of toys on offer, got the joker lego heros set for £5.. need the batman too (thats for dh lol) and a lego game down to £2.45 which was ace price. they had duplo buckets for £2.50 and lots and lots of other stuff.
    Totally debt free wohooo 2014

  • hmmm ... what to do, any ideas? I wanted to get the Olympic Games dvd set for all of us for Chrsitmas as we only saw key moments as we were away, its 19.97 to preorder on Amazon, but I have some Love4Rewards vouchers (I think that's what they are called) that you can't use online, but the stores you can use them in are always more expensive than buying stuff online, I rang HMV and they told me the current price RRP is £35, but is likely to be cheaper when it comes into store, I don't want to pay more than I could get it for online with Amazon's pre order guarantee, but I do want to use vouchers .. hmm quandry!

most of what I'd want in WH Smith or HMV would be cheaper online, perhaps better to keep the vouchers and use them in January when Boots have 75% off? shame you can't use them in Next or M&S!
  • oooh FAB toy bargains there Mrs Gigglewick! Duplo buckets would be great for my little nephew but as I got his pressie 70% off in the January sales I need to restrain myself!

I find once I'm all done with gifts I keep seeing more stuff, really hard to resist!

Need 2 books for DD, Ive preordered a DVD box set for her, theres a PS3 game for DS plus his footy team's calendar to get, want to get Arthur Christmas and Ice Age 4 DVDs, and also have to get their selection boxes, choccy coins, sweetie tubes and choccy advent calenders - will get those on offers with nectar points, need to keep an eye in case Tesco do the BOG2F selections boxes as I need a couple for neighbours children, then I think that I'm done!
