7!!!! we have the new 6ft one in the front room (always had cheap value 5ft but i wanted a 6ft last year) which is lovely. it was the asda one (did i say that?) I think it was this one and was around £25 cause they had a sale on them that week.
I got it mainly cause i LOVE the lights but fed up of untangling them every year to put them on the tree (even wrapped around cardboard they still got knotted to an extent).
the boys have a tiny little white one from poundland in their room that DS1 choose last year.carlamarie wrote: »im just wondering what everyone is getting their mums this year?because im at a complete loss this year! What about a photo book for those tricky mums.
last year (and the year before) I waited until snapfish did their cheap mug offer (generally £2.99 with free p&p) then did mum and dad a mug with photos of their grandchildren on from the previous year/s to show how they've grown as they only see them 3 or 4 times a year.
So last years had a 12w scan pic of them, a pic of DS1 holding DS2 when he was born, me holding both as tiny babies, a family pic, then various other cute ones of them. managed to fit 15 pics on. they loved them.
part way through the year when the offer was repeated I asked them if they would like an up to date one and they jumped at the chance.
p.s. I'm not actually just that mean - i got the mugs from the boys mum also got a bodyshop toiletries set from their offer as well so a soap, candle, shower gel etc.
dad ....... i can't remember something exciting like a halfords voucher (from survey wins).loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
I've just found a east of India recipe book I love on eBay which would be great for my auntie as she is always making up her own recipes just hope I win it!0

I've been away for weeks (work is always really hectic for me at this time of year) and have now caught up with pages and pages of posts!
Thanks everyone for updates, offers and ideas. Just to keep everyone in the mood (as if you needed any help in being Christmas fanatics!), a Christmas card for you all.....enjoy!

Oh, and I've ordered just a few more bits in the play.com sale this morning but as it's not pay day 'til tomorrow, everything will have to wait a whole 24 hours - oh, and despite tomorrow being my birthday, I have to go into the office, so had better bake a really good gooey choccy cake to make the boring meetings bearable!0

Thanks chicky I also love the lights but not the tangle they end up in, and yes 7 trees I know its mad the biggest was 7 foot but it would have been far to big for the new front room13 in 2013 challenge 9/130

This sounds like the sort of thing that I would love someone else to buy for me, but probably won't!
Whatever I ask for (when pressed, as I usually say 'nothing' / socks / slippers/ practical stuff) is usually refused by my OH as he says that he won't buy me 'house' things - Christmas, he says, should be about having something for myself. So what did I get last Christmas? A steamer! I have already put in requests for a teapot and food processor (OH has recently broken both of these!).:rotfl:
We all have lists and ideas for everyone else, but what would you like to be under YOUR Christmas tree, and what are you likely to actually get? :xmastree:0 -
afternoon all,
hope you dont mind me joining in!
I love christmas, I always start quite early. This year is no different. I started afew weeks ago.
Got loads of stuff cheap in sale -
Republic got loads of jewellery for £1/2 for sisters & other female friends.
H&M gift sets £1/2 again for female friends
Amazon, got afew bits from here for my niece as I do Swag bucks so got my vouchers built up and used them meaning I got 2 of her presents for free.
Play, got my sister a t shirt for £2.99 in the case
Asda got my sister a Jaeger gift set, not on offer but she would love it and Id kick myself if they ran out in the run up to xmas
Sainsburys, 25% off clothing, including a staff discount of 10% meaning 40% off so got my nephew a hat and glove set for £3 instead of £5.
24studio, ordered loads of bits from here that were on offer, should have been £44 got it for £17. Really good place to buy from. Got wrapping paper for 49p, calendars for 49p etc
Avon, ordering bits and bobs as I go along, putting in a order tomorrow for some perfume and smellies for friends and sisters
Im really pleased with the dent Ive made. I would say Im around 25% through it. I do have loads to buy for so Im pleased with how I am doing. I love shopping for gifts. Im looking forward to seeing what Boots offer this year!:money::rotfl::T0 -
icemice - I would really like the entire dvd box set of S*x & the City. Every year for the last five years in the run up to Christmas i've often said to various people 'Oh i'd really like to get the S*x & the City dvd boxset at some point' - but have never received it! I think this year i'm going to put it under the tree for myself! :rotfl:
My OH is so lovely and caring, but he's quite rubbish at Christmas time! He always says 'oh I don't know what to get you!' So instead of writing a wish list I just tend to say 'oooh isn't that nice, I really like that' about things when we're in town, but then a couple of days later he'll say 'oh i'm really struggling with what to get you!' so he obviously doesn't pick up on my hints! :rotfl:
I always like what he buys me in the end anyway so I don't need to write him a list, i'm just trying to help him not stress so much!0 -

And well done Snugglebunny, it's always lovely to be thanked like that, you must have deserved it so enjoy it! :T
I found out recently that a Home Bargains is coming to my town in September, I should be happy about this BUT I am moving in September!! We are moving to a lovely town but unfortunately it doesn't have any bargain shops like Poundland, 99p Store, Wilkos, The Range etc....Hopefully it won't be too much of a hassle getting to a bigger town for all of these things for my bargain fix!
That is sods lawVery lucky that we have a 99p shop (not the same as the store, it's one on it's own I think?) and a poundworld, wilkos and B&M's but no Home Bargains - would LOVE a Home Bargains. (Am going to Scunny next week on a shopping scout - aka straight to Home Bargains :rotfl: )
Our local paper posted last week that we'd be getting a poundland at some point - very excited, I love their Christmas rangePrincess Sparklepants0 -

LOL! They really aren't too good at hints are they? I could jump up and down and say 'THIS, THIS THIS!' and he'd just say, 'oh, you don't want that'.
For the record, I would like a particular reclaimed wood wall-mounted wine rack (to clear random bottles from the worktop), nice smellies and it sounds trite, but anything that someone has thought about and preferably NOT spent a lot of cash on. I would love homemade, but people often say that they are talentless!0
