I seem to recall Matalan has big red sacks at a reasonable price closer to Christmas, and different stockings (although obviously not personalised).
  • im using a hessian sack for my 'lost sack' instead of the xmas eve hamper.. its got merry christmas written on it atm.. and i might embroider some other pictures on it.. not decided yet.. Shall get some velvet red ribbon to tie it up with as well.

Buy it, Buy it, Buy it! Its amazing, and my DH (who leaves all 99% of Christmas planning to me) is never impressed by anything but couldn't wait to order that. Your DS will love it. My son will be 9 at xmas and right at this moment I am more excited about giving him that boxset than his main pressie (Ipad2).

Have just got DS the ACDC soundtrack to Ironman2 for £3 on ebay, BN and sealed. DS might be almost done!

It's a lovely idea, but too late for mine I think, they don't really believe any more.
I love E of I stuff too, got MIL 2 of their jewellery boxes and I was hoping when I said i'd like a jewellery box that I'd get one of those but obviously DH needed a LOT more direction than that!

I'm wondering whether to get it and sell his Ironman 1 & 2 DVDs. If I sell them quick they might fetch a good price, and the boxed set is impressive. DS will be almost 11 and getting to the kind of age where he'd be impressed by that kind of thing. decisions decisions!

I'm a silght boy when it comes to this stuff lol . I LOVE them. I have copies of all the movies but because they're going to be 12 plus of these movies all together i think i want to wait until the end and get the box set that will have them all in. They're going to bring a new version of the box set out every year as and when the new films come out, So as much as i WANT this box set i'm trying to be sensible because next year ill be dissapointed and want the yet newer boxset and so on and so forth :rotfl:

    I've been Money Tipped!
hi all, hope everyone is well?

im just wondering what everyone is getting their mums this year?because im at a complete loss this year!

i have previously got her, vouchers (which i hate doing, but was at that point 8 days overdue with ds1 and trying to shop in the christmas crowds, i was disapointed with myself but felt i had no other choice!), pamper hamper, favourite things hamper, hair care hamper, books, dvds, bags and purses, drawing/painting hamper.

i always get her a dressing gown and slippers from next for her birthday which is 22nd november. its a tradition now!

im hoping to get her something different this year! shes 53, works part time and part cares for my nana. she enjoys pictures, eating out (but she does a couple of times a week so voucher meals not really an option!), she doesnt have any hobbies except her drawing!

    any ideas?

Ahhh now Possession you can't sway with that one, but only because DS already has this. Fab idea though : )

Off topic - My brother is a massive ACDC fan (so much so that we saw them in concert at Wembley a couple of years ago) so he boughtmy kids this soundtrack. My brother also bought DS/DD Megamind on dvd for the same reason.
    :D

Snugglebunny - Thanks for the heads up on the stationery at Sainsburys, I will go and check out the moshi monster stuff tomorrow.

I feel exactly the same way about my mum this year, completely at a loss for idea's!
I wanted to make it really special as she has spent the past 15 months nursing my grandmother and grandad who both got cancer within the same very short time period and died within 2 or 3 months of each other very recently. So this christmas is going to be very hard without them there for all of us, I was with her a lot helping out with them but she truly went above and beyond for them and i feel like she deserves something amazing! But the trouble is she is SO hard to buy for, I want to make a hamper but putting smellies etc in it would be pointless because she gets all the usual type stuff herself or from her OH.

If i manage to come up with/see anything good though (pigs may fly first though :D) i'll let you know :)
