with the inlaws, dh pays for their gifts but its generally upto me to pick their presents. they only recieve gifts off us and dont really bother buying each other so i like to get them a few things to open. mil is a little easier to buy for but fil is a nightmare!!!

in addition to this i also buy my mum, stepdad, mil and fil a littel something off the kids saying 'nanna' and 'grandad' usually about a fiver each, so another £20

not too sure what to add for Mums, other than perhaps books or cds/DVD's of favourite old films etc? Sadly I'm not very close to my mum. I always do her a stocking with Body Shop stuff, a Boots gift set, some of her favourite sweets, bottle of wine, a calendar, stationary from M&S, biscuits etc - if I think of anything extra I will let you know, sounds like you have bought them some lovely things already

unfortunatly she doesn't know me so well, she bought me a size 14 top last Christmas .. I'm a 10! LOL! wasn't sure if she might be trying to tell me something, she can be a touch passive aggressive!!

Thank you for the tape suggestion, i think i will go for the do not open till the 25th one. I must not be using ebay properly as i didnt find anything!

Chickywiggle, I think we all feel ignored sometimes, especially when the thread moves so quickly. I posted some pics ages ago of my tree and i didnt get one comment! I kept on refreshing but nothing, reading back a couple of days later i think they jut got missed in the middle of a different conversation. I am actually glad it not jut me that feels like it sometimes.

Sorting some stuff today and found a box with 4 presents for re-gifting from last Christmas (they were lovely but not really my thing) thankfully I had remembered to tuck the gift tag in each one so I know who gave them to me - so I won't do what my late mum in law did once, bless her .... gave me back a gift I gave to her the previous Christmas!!!

I agree with you, sometimes I can easily miss a post or 2 because I'm typing a reply at the same time as somebody else and I only read the posts under mine, not realising there was a new one above it! have done that a few times, so apologies if I miss something, just being ditsy! I'm sure nobody would ever intentionally ignore a post, everyone in here is so lovely

I've a friend on a different forum who texted me upset because she felt people were ignoring her, it upset her all day, until they all texted her because they had missed her post by accident at the end of a page and were even more upset that she was upset! so easy to misunderstand things on the net, know from experience! so if I ever miss anything, it's just me being ditsy/busy/distracted or plain daft lol! xx

I'm always missing posts (half the time i am checking in on my lunch break or go to reply and the kids want something then forget.)
or i want to reply to 5 or 6 posts and by the time i open the reply window i've forgotton what i was gonna say.

I didn't see your tree lunar i reember you saying you were gonan post pics - or someone asking where they were so i even looked out for them.................goes off to have a nosey.

ohh tis pretty lunar..

I got a pre-lit last christmas i love it. praying it still works this year as we have to store things in the celler and it gets kinda .............. damp.

Oh chicky we gave all our Xmas trees away when we moved, we had 7! and I was looking at prelit ones would you recommend them?

Maria - we've just brought a prelit for this xmas I picked it up from Argos clearance (on ebay ) £20, similar in argos Cat s £50.

Uptill last yr we has a fibre optic small tree, but after two xmases you needed to be in a pitch balck room to see the fibres as they had just literally faided to nothingg.
