my hubby (Maria rolls eyes :p) was really sarcastic last year (i do me, him and kids stockings) and put toothbrushes in. Now EVERY year without fail my mum would put a normal toothbrush in our stockings so I thought it would be nice to carry it on.

Is it really that strange??? yes I do buy them at other times of the year LOL.

    other stocking fillers:
    ALWAYS
net of chocolate coins (tradition from my childhood)
    toothbrush (tradition from my childhood)
    orange (tradition from my childhood)
    apple (tradition from my childhood)

A random selection of 'cheap tat' - like Maria no more then £1 per item. usually aim for around £10 each (after buying the above).
    e.g.
    paper plane (hawkins bazaar)
    bouncy ball (hawkins bazaar)
    christmas pen/ pencil

Do you know I can't actually remember what else I put in last year.

We open these when we get up (so all wrapped apart from the fruit).
Also the kids have a big pressie each (from Santa).

Then brekkie before starting on main pressies. Despite hubbys reluctance these are from people NOT Santa. But like carlamarie Santa brings them with him to our house.

They're not yet old enough to ask "well why hasn't he taken the others away". But the tradition for hubbys nephews getting late pressies is "santa forgot to pick them up so we'll post them". Which I guess is going to be the best excuse the first year it happens before rememering to hide em next year.
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:

  • I always put toothbrushes in my stockings too.

For all those people looking for reindeer items, what about making flannel reindeers?

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3576919

My daughter is making them for her friends this year. I bought beige flannels in Primark for £1.50 for 3.
  • Thankyou for the lovely reindeer ideas ladies xxxx
