Exactly - You only JUST REALISED. Normally by now everyone is buzzing with excitement. But this year, everywhere I go, nobody is.0 -

The worrying thing is I can't see it getting any better next year. Everyone is worried about spending money. And although I know that that is not the real meaning, Christmas used to be the ONLY time of the year I pushed the boat out.
I am worried about what the new year will bring, and I will be just as worried next Christmas.
I have already mentally started working out what I can get present wise for little money next Christmas. Many years ago, (when I first became single), money was very tight, but I looked at it as a challenge. But now I just seem to have no fight in me. I work really hard,(had 2 jobs up until last week), and still have nothing left. Christmas just feels like something I could do without right now.
Sorry for being so miserable0 -
OMO great big hugs hun - I have also been doing those mental calculations. I naively thought that doing a home made Christmas (for gifts and things) would work out cheaper - not so
Had about 3 hours sleep last night - dog ill againGot up at 4am and haven't stopped since. Didn't have time for breakfast or lunch
It took 6 hours to clean the flat!
Still need to make T-shirts and family tree papercut but I am just too tired tonight. Want to just get it sorted first thing tomorrow and then spend the whole day sitting on my butt enjoying TV[/COLOR]2024 Challenges

I think doing home-made only works out cheaper if you are doing it on a big scale. I just can't make small amounts of things cheaper than the shops. I used to make a Christmas cake, but the dried fruit is just too dear to warrant it now. The supermarkets can do it a lot cheaper.
I am doing all the girls on my list Chocolate Hampers next year. I have 6 to do, so can get 3 for 2 offers during the year. I already have Choc Shower Gel, Lip Balm and Body Butters. It has cost £19 so far, but I have £45 worth of stuff. I am hoping to get them finished for about £10 each leaving me £41 to spend. Will make my own slabs for them, which will save a few quid.
Really need to get the new thread up and running :rotfl:0
