Finished my day job at 2.30 today. Went to visit a friend I haven't seen in a while and stayed to nearly 6  we had a great catch up though.

talking of catch ups, so much on here.

Chirpychick Congrats and ouch. dd didn't weigh that at 6 months. She was early and very poorly (in hospital from 7 weeks old to nearly 6 months). Ds early but put on weight unlike dd.

riskyb have finally written down your pages to like and follow them when I have finished this.
It would be a privilege to write a guest post on your blog. will dig up Louise blog and post it for you.

FF So sorry to hear about the fair. I really thought you where going to buck the trend. Will follow your blog.

Nanamia Great news about beloved DSiL. xx

 Am getting a little fed up with the News readers constant comments about the shooter in the USA having Aspergers.
There is enough misunderstanding about it, without this scare mungering. I very much doubt ASD had anything to do with his actions. Things like this just breed fear, that is not warranted.

Still do not feel Christmassy.:( Only 1 week to go.
Watched ' Deck the Halls' with dd yesterday. We did nothing but moan about it the whole way through. Went to buy some lights to drape round plant tonight and dd told my not to bother. She is worse than me. :rotfl:

rosygirl happy birthday for yesterday. xx

    aw congratulations chirpy :j:j
omo i got one of those tablets and was having same problem as you, read on another forum that the tabs arent compatible with the app!!!! ive changed a couple of my kindle books to epub in calibre on the laptop and moved them over to the tab and can use them in the aldiko app that was installed and they are working fine. hope that helps x

    Thank you for this info.:D

I have no idea how to do it. What is epub in calibre ? :o
  • Ooops just realised that I was supposed to store my finished truffles in the fridge doh! I made them last night and seeing as our kitchen is fairly cold, I'm sure it will be fine (now in the fridge) just 'tested' one so if I don't go down with food poisoning I should be fine. Plus the cream was cooked off, so any bacteria 'should' be gone.

If anyone is in need of cheap tins/containers to transport/store bakes, I sent DH to poundland and he bought me back 5 of their snowflake tins in red and blue. They aren't too small and although they aren't great at stacking (paranoid my bakes are going to topple) they make a change from using left over Roses tins ;)

  • I think Amazon just ruined my Christmas surprise. I clicked on one of the things on my wishlist and it said "Are you sure? Someone may have bought this for you recently". I only wanted to look at it! :(

:grouphug:Chirpy and Mr Chirpy what wonderful wonderful news. So glad to hear that you are all safe and healthy :) You clever girl, enjoy you much loved, eagerly waited for little prince (not so little). Be kind to yourself a happy Mummy means a happy baby, you will be no use to either of them if you start overdoing things! Let Mr Chirpy pamper you, it sounds like he's enjoying it:) xxx
You lovelies do make me chuckle. I am indeed a mother hen. In fact there was a tv show on not long ago looking for Britain's Jewish Mum of the Year and quiet a few people mentioned I have those traits although I'm not Jewish! But I am a bit of a chicken soup mama. Ha ha.
Caitlyn you always post such lovely thoughts you have such a fab way with words. Always raise my spirits :) thank you xxx
Moneysavingmumofone I've gone a little orange crazy. I will possibly need a whole suitcase for my orange hamper:) DGD is going to love it. I've got trivets, mixing bowls, spatulas, etc etc etc down to an orange nail brush. We are going to have so much fun :) I can't wait now, just to see her and her Mummy and Daddy of course. Three weeks on Thursday wooo hooo :) I am so very very lucky. And with my DSiL improving I can now begin to look forward to it. The slight downside and I'm not moaning but DH who is Bah Humbug keeps saying "We don't need to bother with that we are going away" up to now it's been the Christmas tree! Outside lights! Ham joint! We aren't going til the 10th :)
Big big big apologies for missing birthdays :( I'm so sorry I usually like to keep up. Naughty girls not reminding me!:bdaycake::bdaycake::bdaycake::bdaycake::
    :grouphug:

Caitlyn I bake the cherry scones and then freeze them in little food bags in 4's. they freeze really well I've been doing it years my darling Nana spent a good few years living in sheltered accommodation and she liked to brag that I'd made them for her:) so she too always had to have a supply in her freezer! They are really handy cos they dont take very long to defrost- so she could impress her friends.Bless her.
Riskyb I've not got an almond cookie recipe unfortunately but often pop a few on top of the shortbread. The frangipane mince pies (think its Nigellas recipe) are made with almond pastry and DH loves it. Often use the pastry to make apple pies etc too.
Linky can't help with your kindle problem. My kindle app is on the iPad and the books go straight into that, I also have it linked to my phone -just in case we get parted!
    Night night xxx
