(or Ill never get round to it!!) I am waiting on loads of stuff to arrive though, dont usually order this much online but found some good deals so just have to hope it all arrives on time! :xmastree:'They only had one cow!'0 -
I have a slight ungrateful dilemma! I know one of my xmas presents come from dh last night and he and dd put it under her bed. Well i've just gone and took a peek (yes I know!!) and its hideous!!!
On Sat night dh decided to by my xmas presents (which already felt like zilch effort was put in as he did it in 20 mins, kept saying he didnt know what to get & didnt know if I would even like my gifts that he did choose)
I already bought myself (which dh knows) a primark xmas jumper and as something which is going to be worn a few times a year if its lucky I am very happy with. He has bought for £40  the most hideous reindeer jumper. I am gutted! If it cost £10/£15 I dont think I would feel as bad but £40!!! There were some links to some gorgeous ones from boo hoo etc a few pages back i'm sure for around £20 which were so much nicer, more feminine, more me.
I sound such an ungrateful cow I'm aware, just cant believe it. Glad I have a week to compose myself to say oh its great, thank you with a smile on my face LOL! Actually this isnt a dilemma its a slightly dissapointed rant :rotfl:Spreading a little Christmas joy all year round :santa2:0 -
Oh noodles, i so know how you feel.. every year you can bet someone will give me the most thoughtless hidious pressie going.. i swear they only do it for my reaction... im far too nice to say ugh what were you thinking... wish i could lol.. Maybe if funds allowing go out and get the most hidious jumper you could for your dh for your dd to give him?

Lol thing is funds really don't allow & he went £20 over budget for the horrid jumper! I think the more I think about it I'm actually annoyed as lack of effort from him is something that has come up in the past. The thing is I would love just done time together & something like an IOU for les mis next month as I'd love to see it but prob won't as I have no one to go with.Spreading a little Christmas joy all year round :santa2:0 -
I think in that scenario I would tell him about one of your internet friends who has TWO Christmas jumpers and isn't that silly, you're pleased with your Primark one but she has two and isn't that just overkill? One's more than enough and you really hope your mum/MIL/whoever doesn't pick up on your Christmas love and buy you one because while the thought's really lovely the actual gift would be such a waste, and you couldn't even take it back after Christmas without the receipt because it would just be in the sales and it would be losing half the value.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

I would have said maybe its a jokey jumper, the traditional hideous xmas jumper but at £40 probably not lol. Could you casually browse xmas jumpers on the computer where he can seeand when youre looking at that say its horrible? Is that mean?
Or pretend it doesnt fit and return it after xmas, of course there will be none left so you will have to get something else.
A few years ago my OH felt bad he hadnt bought me anything (skint as usual) so he bought me about £300 worth of stuff from a catalogue. (still paying for it, hindsight etc) Of course you dont get much for £300 from a catalogue! He bought me a horrible fake gold bracelet and watch set (£35!) I cant wear them unfortunately
as my wrists are too skinny, (literally only part of me that is!
) they just fall over my hands! I must admit he also got me some lovely jeans and shoes that spookily Id actually been eyeing up so I let him off.

I'm actually considering pm'ing one of you guys the link & posting it up & then I can say what a hideous jumper that is lol but that seems a bit cruel!Spreading a little Christmas joy all year round :santa2:0

I agree, i think this is the best option..and if you do it now he will have time to take it back and get something else..and drop some hints about Les Mis!0
