Hope everyone is well - will get catching up tonight when Im home!
Can I ask, I'm planning on making some truffle batches to go in hampers and for a few people who I'm now going to see on the day, so just for a token gift. How far ahead do you normally make them? They usually don't last long in my house so haven't really had to worry about them keeping before :rotfl:
Im making mine on Sunday morning ready to hand out on Monday, not sure how long they will last but Im putting a wee tag on it advising best left in the fridge!chirpychick wrote: »Hello Everyone - Hope all your Christmas plans are going well!!
Not long to go now!
I am over the moon to announce that baby Franklin finally made his appearance 13 days overdue on 13/12/12 at 05:16 weighing in at a eye watering 10lb4!
It was a very traumatic birthboth Mummy & Baby had difficulties but we both thankfully made it through in the end!
We are home (I discharged myself the same day, which in hindsight was a bad idea!!!) Franklin is thriving and is more amazing than I ever dreamed he would be. He has a huge mop of thick black hair, big blue eyes and little sticky out "elf ears" and gorgeous chubby red cheeks.
Im in lots of pain but my hubby is amazinghe even managed to find me the £27 soap & glory set as an extra for under the tree
pictures will follow in a few days
CONGRATULATIONS!!! Thats fab news, hope you are all well now and ready to enjoy your first christmas together
Sorry for not popping in this last week or so, truth be told, I lost my Christmas spirit, the same time as my darling cat Turbo went missing. He's still not home, and I miss him dreadfully, but I'm trying to be positive and am clawing back my festiveness!
Oh no sorry to hear that was hoping turbo would of been home by now, maybe some lovely family has been keeping him warm without realising another family are out there missing himHope he returns home to give you the biggest christmas cuddle!

A grown woman, peeking at her Christmas presents - gosh!
I think any gift should be received graciously (unless of course it's clearly a 'gift' intended to hurt). Sometimes we make mistakes when buying gifts, and that's not just men! Even when putting thought and effort in we can still get it wrong, perhaps by putting too much emphasis on a throwaway comment or overlooking something, but I reckon most of us have got a gift wrong before, even if we're not aware of it.
As far as I see it, you have two choices. You can think that your OH doesn't know you and doesn't care about your presents, or you can take a look around, realise you are in the privileged position to be spending Christmas with your loved ones *and* receiving presents to boot, and receive the gift graciously.Despite the name, I'm actually a laydee!0 -
The Christmas tree
Oh noodles that is a bit of a dilemma. Maybe say well since its such a festive jumper you won't get much use so it really isn't practical?“I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.”

Ooh JJ your tree is amazing still three days til I put ours up! I'm hoping that you manage a little Christmas spirit without Turbo. X
Thank you Nanamia, I'm missing him like mad, but I'm doing ok. I love Christmas, and silly as it sounds, I know Boo wouldn't want me to be gloomy all the time, so I'm trying to keep my chipper up. Thanks sweetie. xxmoneysavingmumofone wrote: »Beautiful trees JJ! So sorry Turbo is not home yet, Ive known of cats to turn up weeks later so I hope he strolls in Christmas eve for you! Thanks you moneysavingmumofone I am keeping everything crossed he's home with us again soon. I've posted on a group page set up for Turbo being missing. I've posted on various shelter websites etc, so a lot of ground has been covered. disabled_NCIS_fan Your tree is lovely!
Have had a busy day today, but haven't felt too well. Feel really giddy, as does hubby and fil oddly enough. Wonder if it's the weather?
I've posted all the Christmas cards in the village, we're very rural, so it doesn't take too long (normally 20 mins), unless you get invited in for coffee and mince pies. So, two hours later I returned home! :rotfl:
Then I started faffing with the dining table. I don't know if it's just me that does this, but I like to do various style settings for the Christmas table, before I decide on the one I want for Christmas day. Finished my friends Christmas gift bag today, and put the last of my decs up. So not too bad a day really all in all..
I've also finished decorating my Christmas cake, I'm so pleased with it. It has also been a good distraction for me with Boo being missing. It's helped to take my mind off it for a while.
Just hope it tastes ok now! :rotfl:
Will anyone be watching Christmas Bake Off tonight? Loved the Bake Off series, so will be glued to that! (bbc2 8pm) Wartime Farms on after it, celebrating a 1944 Christmas.
Hope everyone has had a good day.
Lots of hugs to all. xxx0 -

iIve managed to get all my wrapping done so im happpy.
DD went on a school shopping trip today to Meadowhell and didnt spend a penny ! i had my reservations about the trip but she wanted to go with her friends BIG mstake ! all the kids have SEN some including dd are autistic and she has struggled with the crowds and the "rudeness" of people bumping into her and not saying sorry, she has spent most of the day controlling her temper that by the time she got home she went off like a nuclear bombThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. Thanks for the comment but I don't necessarily agree. This is the time where myself and dh will spend money towards each other so if I feel gutted that he has wasted the money on something that is completely the opposite of what I would like I feel that I can feel down about it and that he doesnt know what I would like and as a previous poster said, just feels like a grab and go present. I feel that our christmas presents to each other are a kind of well done for getting through the year to each other. I am grateful & appreciative for us and our family everyday of the year.
And I also appreciate that though I am dissapointed some sort of thought process would have gone behind it and that I needed to be tactful with my approach to how I handled it hence why I moaned on here and not to his face. I also feel its the amount spent which also was playing on my mind.
As it happens two helpful things happened since I was last on, firstly dd dropped out about the jumperand another present arrived broken. Then the subject of Christmas presents come about and I asked if what dd had said by accident was true, which of course was confirmed. He then said he bought it as I said I liked christmas jumpers. Which I then reminded him I already had one. He appreciated that I thought it was too much money to spend on something that was going to be worn once, if that. I was just honest and said that as we hardly buy anything all year I would rather have something that I could use more than once a year. He said he finds present buying hard, I suggested that maybe starting a bit earlier on in the year instead of the week before may help ease this! So thanks for all the comments but I am glad that it wont be wasting money.

All presents now in lounge. I DID NOT BUY THIS MUCH !!!!
Am absolutely shattered. We have 3 floors and it is a VERY LONG WAY from the top to the bottom. Especially when you do it 4 times loaded with bags and boxes.
This has given me all intensive I needed to cut down next year.
Have just got to work out who can have gift bags, and what I REALLY need to wrap. ( Not a lot I hope):D0
