Brilliant idea about the food shopping VIA click n collect, never remember I can do that - as it being delivered doesn't work as we both work shifts.
Unfortunately (although a great idea) I can't get the "work" pressies from off net, as the company gives us a set amount of cash for each person and they don't allow us to pay via card and reimburse ourselves so to speak, we need individual till receipts for each, so this will mean a trip into town this weekend - or maybe a supermarket after work hmmmm only just thought of that!
Could delegate wrapping to hubby, but he's not the best at it and tends to look like a child's done it! He's also working everyday apart from weekend.
I have written majority of cards now and wrapped the presents for the children in our family, the adults might have to be gift bags.
Thank you all for suggestions0 -
Morning all
I've just got all the kids pressies out to start wrapping, so the house is now full of empty boxes that they came in, and just realised that the majority of their pressies are in the garage and my hubby has the key with him! On the plus side have just cleaned the utility room from top to bottom, but not sure where on my "Xmas things to do list" that was. I really need to get my head sorted and start on Xmassy things rather than just keep ignoring the pressies in the living room and boxes in the hall!
Really excited, fisnished work now, although have volunteered to help at the local community centre tomorrow.
Christmassy hugs to all who need them x0 -

A lot of the supermarkets do have quite a lot of nice gifts in and some have already started to reduce the price.
Other than that, perhaps a quick trip to B00ts or Superdr*g would work - as they have food gifts as well as a range of gifts for men and women.
I hope you manage to get everything done and still have time to relax a little bit before the big day!0 -
Wilkinsons had quite alot already on 50% off.
I've nearly finished wrapping dh's pressies (apart from the few bits still due to be delievered) so just got the girls main pressies to wrap! yay! even stockings are sorted.
Found this.. its how my christmas is lol

*waves hello*
just managed to catch up! am hoping things are calming down, have been getting all stressed with work, I want the hours but they have been stressing me a bit - ie 3 people wanting me to do work for them at same time etc, but hopefully its winding down for Friday now!
Chirpychick huuuuuge congrats! and well done you! love the name, its gorgeous! and 10lb??!! blimey you are one brave woman! mine were 6+lb's but both 2 weeks earlyenjoy every single second of it, lots of love to all 3 of you and I hope this is the most wonderful Christmas humanly possible!! xxxxx
Nanamia thank you honey! *hugs*
JJ your cakes are amazing!!! am so sorry there is no sign of Turbo yet, but ive heard too of cats coming home weeks later so Ive got everything crossed for you xxxx
Noodles I feel for you! I put small things on my list for OH and he does get some, but he will also go and get me things that arent on the list as he wants to suprise me, sometimes they might not be quite me! (eg rum truffles when I only like whisky etc) but other times they are wonderful, hes very good although occasionally may go a little overboard, but Im so luckythink you did the right thing discussing it with him xx
ALmost done now - M&S didnt have any of the luxury gravy on Monday, they usually get it in Christmas week and it has stuff like sherry, dates etc in it so its very rich, I dont like wimpy gravy and Im rubbish at making it! I still add stuff to it but its the nicest one, they looked at me blankly when I asked about it (found a bit of that in M&S recently!) so have to pop back friday for prawn cocktail (ubd is 21st at moment!) profiteroles and gravy, then do bread, milk, fruit, potatoes dash at S'burys on sunday
M&S have their wrap and cards half price this week, online and in store, stuff online keeps going out of stock then reappearing and disappearing so worth keep checking of what you want is showing OOS, free store delivery for the New Year so have stocked up for next year
bit disappointed so many people not sending cards this year, think price of stamps not helping, but the kids schools are encouraging charity donations instead, as is hubbies worknot that I would begrudge the charities the money or the sentiment of course, but Christmas cards are so festive and it looks a bit bare! wont have to buy any for next years and have 4 boxes left!!

Hello everyone
I'm panicing! I am so unorganised with Xmas and still have the following to do...
*write Xmas cards (i have written and posted the ones that need to be sent)
*wrap all the presents
*buy food for Xmas day (i do have the turkey)
*buy presents for 8 more people (i work in care home and the company gives us money to buy each resident a present, so 5 members of staff split the task - I was only asked yesterday as someone else can't do it.
I'm sure there's more! Thing is I'm working 1-8 today, 8-8 Thursday and Friday. I have the weekend off but alongside doing all the above I need to:
Sat - travel 60 miles each way to see mum and stepdad
Sun - day is being spent with hubbys mum and brothers (will properly be all day)
Then I'm at work Xmas eve 8-8!
Am panicing now...
Well, I meant to get a lot done today but I have felt so ill.I have a UTI and dont know if its connected but last night and all today my stomach/chest/upper back has been tight and aching, it hurts so much and is making me feel so sick.
I think mabe its the antibiotics as I started taking them last night and it started a few hours later! To top it off Ive been in agony with toothache too! Luckily the toothaches eased off now! Im so panicking as theres stuff all over the place too so not easy to gather it all together.
It was DS' school concert today though and it was absolutely lovely! He didnt have a part, was sat on the floor with most of the other children singing but he did a grand job.I could see him swaying to the music the whole way through, so cute! x

Has just spent the past hour trying to get all of a sticky price label off a gift :eek: Done it but the box looks awful
Why, oh why do retailers do this?? It's pretty obvious that at this time of year it will probably be a gift!!
If you have any ideas that would have saved me time/effort/ frustration....please tell me in later posts, not now or I may scream !:rotfl::rotfl:Stopped smoking 20th October 2012
This year I will have something that resembles a garden and not a building site!0 -

Sorry not been around everyone, dd3 again! i hope you are enjoying all the festivities and hugs to all that need them.
Congrats to chirpy on the birth of Franklin - well done you! My eyes are watering at his weight lol, almost 4 times the weight of dd3 when she was born lol and that was sore enough!
I'm having a major stress/panic too - still lots to buy and lots to do, our little family Xmas party has turned into more than 40 people coming, no idea how that's going to work!! Just need to get my bum in gear now.
Well wishes to all
JJ

Well, wrapped about a quarter of what I needed to, have finally finished all the cards and posted of the one's to family. Have wrapped pressies for 3 friends at work, made all the teachers gifts and distributed. So some stuff off the list of "things to do".
Bought a bit of food, am doing a "big shop" Friday am, then just pop back in for fresh stuff and the crack of stupid o'clock on Monday. Will deffo wrap the remaining pressies for the kids on Friday afternoon. Have now got Mum and Dad sorted, so just a couple of bits for DH and then ................... relax all done, until the covert mission to get the pressies out of the loft on Xmas Eve without being heard.
I'm so excited !!!!!!!0
