It became available last week. Still runs from Boxing day. Never had a early gift before. Might mean the gifts will be good this year.:D

Ha we can live in hope. I'm very disappointed with my app advent calendar this year! It's all kiddie games. I mean I know it's aimed a children but still... :D

Well regardless of people trying to throw a spanner into the works I am reclaiming my Christmas spirit :) Been to DDs and she's given me a manicure and has done mylene klass nail foils for me in sparkly pink. Never had them done before and I have to say I love them. At the grand old age of 48 I've only ever had coloured nails once before for a wedding so it's a huge change for me. I'm not one for fuss make up etc but I like these nails!
We sat and chatted whilst she transformed my hands and watch DGD play around the Christmas tree whilst the original Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was on in the background, drinking hot chocolate and munching on cookies. Delightful :)
I've almost wrapped all my presents got my best friends stocking to do and two Christmas Eve hampers which are waiting for snowman soup and reindeer food, they shouldn't take long.
Got our tree although its outside and I'm not decorating it til Thursday night or Friday. Might try and get the decorations out of the loft this weekend and put a few bits and bobs up. I've got some gorgeous lanterns for outside which although we've had them a couple of years now I can't wait to get them back up. I just adore them. Will post a piccie end of next week when they are up in their full glory.
Still no news from Chirpy. Sending huge hugs to you all xxx
Who has a festive weekend planned? I've got two rolls of wallpaper for a little wall in my kitchen it's been there months now but need DHs help to put it up. I'm hoping I will be able to smooth talk him into helping this weekend cos I've bought baubles to match :)
I kno it's quiet and people are getting tired now and running out of steam.

I hope you like the above quote. I thought it just about sums up our "family" on this thread. I've borrowed it from a signature from a forum member called Special K. X

On a Christmassy note - does anyone know of a place on the highstreet that I could buy a plain black tote bag? I am off to exchange gifts with my best Friend next Wednesday (she moved to London) and I wanted to print her up a keep calm personalised tote bag, but I'm not going to have time to wait for the post :(

Anyone want to rescue me? X

don't know about black ones but hobbycraft do plain whiteycream canvas ones for £1 each if thats any help?

not got one on my phone but does anyone remember the channel 4 teletext advent calender.........I used to love that.
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:
  • I quite miss the days where I had 8 pages to catch up with of an evening. Though I suppose it's so close to Christmas now people are either sat back feet up and don't need to visit us for ideas or running around frantically with no time to visit us for ideas! Personally I just need to get a hand cream for a stocking filler and I'm *officially* done. Apart from assembling and writing all my cards, finishing my reindeer noses and wrapping half my presents :D Work is just so crazy when I get a minute to myself I just want to sit and veg. I'll definitely be more organised next year ;)

  • Well, its 4am & im wide awake! Typical, a day off work & im up earlier than usual, which means im gonna be shattered by tea time & a grumpy mummy!
Ive a lot on my mind so im best off downstairs browsing the web for a while rather than tossing & turning in bed keeping dh awake! Our plans for this weekend have changed a bit, as his psycho-ex decided to ring an hour before he was due to pick his kids up to postpone till today as they have something else to do. grrr, prepared now for not seeing them until after xmas as this usually marks the beginning of her games, but im not gonna let it bother us, were doing all we had planned anyway, with our 2 dd's, and a few extra treats too!
I agree how quiet it is on here, & hope its just the pre-xmas rush.
with all i have had to contend with these last few weeks, i would have been really down without the kind words & support of all you lovlies, so may i take this oppertunity to wish each & everyone of you a very merry christmas, and a healthy & happy new year xx
It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.

Snap! Can't believe I've admitted that though, I've been 22 for soooo many years now.

Think today I will be having a tidy and tying up loose ends. Apart from waiting in for a hamper on Tuesday all is done so I can take DS to look at some of the Christmas activities around town.

Bought my sister the s & g set from Boots, no mad queues here. Can't wait to give it to her as she'll love it and is not expecting it at all. :j

On other news my eldest ds has properly broken up with his girlfriend and moved back to his Dads. I'd done them a joint staying in hamper, so now I don't know what to do with the contents. I can give him some of the male stuff and he'll also be expecting a stocking now (the hamper was an easier version for me) Any ideas for a 23 year old? He's got every DVD he needs. I feel so sad about it especially as its so close to Christmas
Also had bought her the Ted baker set this week - suppose that's a start on the birthdays for next year. She also has a little boy and I'd been buying bits for him and was looking forward to seeing his reaction. Oh well....:(
Sorry but that has made me lose my Christmas sparkle.....off for leg waxing now, maybe the pain will take my mind off it!!

    Hi ya,
Poor guy. Hugs to you both. If he likes dvd's then maybe change the staying in hamper to a movie nite in hamper? I guess u can add in some eating stuff such as popcorn, chocolate, crisp, various drinks, a gift voucher for a new dvd that he can choose himself etc.

I'd love some recommendations please. I love baking too.
I was just trying to thnk of something different for her. She already has plenty baking stuff, but has always had her eye on my big ceramic mixing bowl.
I'm going to give her one of the tea cup candles I made too and I forgot I got her a wee tin of buttons from dotcomgiftshop sale ages ago. So she's well and truly sorted now x

Hey - i love questions about foodie gifts.Hopefully even if i cant help i can get ideas for my food blog. One of the edible christmas gifts I am gonna suggest on there next week is a homemade spice mix. This seriously goes down well with foodies - so if she likes baking you can mix up something a little bit exotic if she is adventerous or something more classic depending on her taste. I am happy to suggest a few ideas to you if you want? all you need to do is put in in a nice container and with a nice ribbon sky is the limit?

on my wish list also are items from thisbaking company. seriously check them out. http://www.bakeitpretty.com/
you can give funky cupcake or muffin liners, decorating kits, moulds, cookie cutters etc all in lovely colours. Dont know if you can get them in the UK but it might give you ideas for something similar?

The hummingbird bakery cook book looks fab and yotam ottolenghi is famous for desserts and so if you get ottolenghi the cook book about a 3rd of this book is for some seriously mouth watering dessert.
    Hope it help?

    OMO,
I did it. I did it, I did it, hurrah (spot the dora the explorer reference) :T.
I started a food blog. I now have my own blog website and have a page on facebook. I am sooooooooo excited. Remember we chatted about this a while back. Well, I kept seeing what u did and that kept me going through the whole set up process. So thanks for inspiration.

Please come visit both sites...... Hey next week I will be running a series on quick easy edible christmas gifts for those last minute gifts.
I did it whoop whoop whoop.
I have figured out how to link my blog info to my user public contact profile (a mouthful). I remember that you wanted to do this? I can let you know how if you still interested??????
