We don't have the whole turkey type meal this year we are having pork with veg and mashed potatoes,I've got the mash cooling so I can freeze it,we just bake it on the day.

I'm going to start baking cakes, scones, pies etc tomorrow but can anyone tell me if I can freeze biscuits?

  • RosyGirl-I hate it when festive trips are disappointing, gives OH the perfect excuse to moan about the cost/distance/getting lost too!

PRINCESSX87-I completely feel your pain (no pun intended!) as Ive had toothache all night too! Feel ill because of it. My teeth are awful, nearly all broken. I have a huge phobia and Im so scared to go, doesnt help that on the few occasions Ive been in so much agony Ive forced myself to go, Ive got mean dentists including the one last time who laughed at me for crying!! Hope your toothache subsides soon, its all consuming isnt it. :(

happysmithy-Sorry to hear about your car. :( A big bill has taken most of our spare money in December so I know how you feel. So disappointing when you think you're on track with money then something scuppers it! x

Love all your elf bits msgigglewick! :D

sk00bie1-Hope you dont get any more stomach trouble. :( Primark have a nice selection of jumpers for £12, they also have loads of mens ones which are pretty much the same fit/shape as the ladies! If I have enough money I think Im going to get one of the mens ones! (already have a ladies Rudolph one. :D) Thanks for the ebay link to the twine, just what I need!

Congratulations MaggieMcQ, what lovely news!! :j

weeclick-Hope your earache goes soon. Earache and toothache are the worst. :( Aw Im babysitting my niece and nephew tomorrow, if all goes to plan Im going to make a handprint canvas print using my nieces handprints to make the tree and my nephews for the star on top. (he's only 3 months so tiny hands lol)

Hope the bring and buy goes well next week emalou88, Im sure you'll raise lots of money! :)

Bought a few cheap christmassy things today, some patterned paper for my reindeer letters to Postpals children, sparkly gems and a Megabloks Moshi monster figure reduced to 50p. Also some smartprice crackers for £1 for stockings. Better go and have a quick tidy up as MIL will be here soon lol but will be back on later. :)

  • Does anyone know where I can get stocking hangers, to hang stockings off the edge of the fireplace?

I would have thought they were a pretty basic thing, but I can't find any ANYWHERE. The only ones I've found were on the Studio website, and although they were a great price, I don't really want to have to become a member/sign contracts/etc just to buy one small item.

Has anyone seen any? (Or have any other methods of hanging the things up...) What do you lot do with your stockings?

LalaGomay this one on Amaz*n is very cute but a bit pricey
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Silver-Snowman-Christmas-Stocking-SH4/dp/B00604QTSM/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1354292425&sr=8-3

but if you search on Amaz*n for 'mantle' or stocking hangers' there seems to be lots to choose from. HTH
  • Oops forgot to say I cant believe its chirpychicks due date already, seems to have gone so fast! Hope we hear the lovely news of babys arrival soon unless hes too comfy and keeps Mummy and Daddy waiting! :)

The more I make for the bazaar the more sick I feel. I have always made stuff, and always dreamed of selling it. But now it is happening I feel like a fraud.
What have I actually made ?
I have printed off tags and folded card. Not exactly groundbreaking stuff. Knowing the other stalls are companies is not helping me at all.

Sorry to hear you are having doubts - I felt the same way at first, but my family reassured me and I know that there's a lot of people who just aren't craft-orientated at all - they are our market :D

I also felt better when I was shopping yesterday and saw a shop selling snowman soup...for £4.50 a pop!
It's all a learning process, the way I see it the first fayre is just a learning process rather than a selling one, I think it's more important to find out what's popular and if things are priced correctly :)

Sk00bie, fancy seeing you on here :T:T:T

Does anyone decorate the outside of their house? I love seeing all the lights when walking round the streets in the evening, but it's never occurred to me to buy outdoor lights myself.

We haven't for the past two years because of the awful weather, but I'm going to make OH do it this year. It's just rope lights and a few other decs but it makes the place look so PRETTY at night :D:D:D:T

We don't have a fireplace :o So I just pin them in a row on the wall. When Santa takes one down to fill, he leaves it on top of that persons pile of presents :):T
