I do wonder what they use in some of their skincare. The Protect and Perfect serum gave me a breakout the likes of which I have never seen before. I had spots on parts of my face that I have never had spots on before in my life! I have used serums from other brands with no problems.

I'm the same. My skin was so congested after using it. And like you say I got them on my cheeks where I never get spots. Awful stuff.

That has cheered me up. Have been very emotional today saying goodbye to my friend and best boss I've ever had.

Just popping in to let you ladies know that I got my advantage points back with no trouble at all at the weekend after the assistant charged me twice :D

And as I've been good I treated myself to an Elemis facial - got to say that whilst my skin looked good afterwards it wasn't any better than I have achieved before with my mis-mash of products and it also felt quite greasy  - my cheeks also started to itch after a while too so whilst the assistant told me that it was all natural aromatherapy oils with no added perfumes etc it was still too strong for my delicate skin so back to the SD Vitamin E hot cloth cleanser I go :D (substitute warm for hot though :rotfl::rotfl:)

Please can someone advise me of the best way to order something from Avon so that I don't have to pay postage? I'm desperate for the Tahiti perfume after I found out it smells like coconut (my HG perfume was discontinued last year ) and whilst it's on offer the postage is almost as much as the bottle itself and I'm not aware of an Avon rep near me :(

    Many Thanks

    bunnykins xx

I'm glad you got your Boots points back.

Which Elemis products did the therapist use for your facial? I love the Lime Blosom Cleanser, Gentle Rose Exfoliator, Papaya Enzyme Peel and Pro Collagen Marine Cream. Wonder what she applied that made it oily.

I don't know the answer re: Avon other than using a rep.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

Well have rearranged holiday stuff, p&p eye cream swapped for the balance me one, the p&p day and night creams swapped for the beautiful skin dry skin day and night cream minis. I've left the p&p serum in for now, but that may change in the next few weeks. Now just need to work out if I've forgotten anything.

I read earlier your comments on the P&P eye cream and also serums, a couple of weeks ago I heard someone, (Liz Earle) I think, suggest that the majority of women under a certain age do not need to use a serum, not sure but mid 30's seems to come to mind, so I had a little cast around, and although I could not find that reference I did find a few interesting bits and pieces, including the best way to apply serum:o

It made me wonder if some of the younger ones of our lovely group really need to use serums yet.

I am mid-30s and don't have any lines yet. I actually use a serum for the moisturising properties. I find I can use a 'normal' dry skin moisturiser (rather than one that looks like lard) when I use a serum. I have very dry skin and I find it makes my skin so much happier, especially in winter.

the ones i use aren't the anti ageing ones, i have the bare minerals skin revver upper because it has loads of ingredients like salicylic acid, glycolic acid and honey in it and i find a low dose of it everyday helps keep my spots at bay.

i also have the clarins hydra quench and i use that if my skin is really starting to feel dry.

i also remember Liz Earle being quoted as saying you don't need a separate eye cream at night as your normal moisturiser will do just fine for the job its supposed to do. its just the day ones that have all the anti-puffiness/brightening stuff in it that you might need to add.

You lot make me laugh! Particularly amused by the "hard to reach box of mystery" (thank you Willowbee) and Weesmiler's "big 2-6" (wait til you're 40, like me! Should be a big birthday, but I still feel 17. At 26 you are still a child!)

Also, do any of you ever read paragraphs slightly out of sequence for speed? I do, and in Weesmiler's post I got "I had a lovely day.......sex" and only realised later that it was a day spent watching Sex and the City.......

I have a UU. Actually, my husband perpetrated the UU. You know how men love whinging about their injuries? So my husband came out with the running club last night and complained that he'd hurt his knee running on muddy footpaths. Pacified him by running him a bath with a Lush blackberry bath bomb. He said it was nice. It certainly turned the water very purple and stained the tub! Did not smell very blackberryish so WNBA.

Have a lovely weekend everybody. Perhaps the relentless rain will stop......

ask if they have any samples of it on the counters, i first tried it when they did a sampling offer. they sometimes have little 5ml bottles of it that they give out. its expensive but it does last. might be because I'm not using it every night though!:rotfl:
