Kaz - in answer to your question re the beauty boxes, I've only had them since for a couple of months (LIB in Feb and Amarya from march) and I have already purchased one item from my first Amarya Box and the Lip Balm also from the first box would consider buying when all my lip balms are used up, but think it is expensive for lip balm. Also would considering buying the Bamford products (absolutely Lovely) and the Monu Products from a LIB box.0

I'm in this month!
After getting my stash down to one largeish basket I went a bit crazy and seem to have filled a small cupboard again, oops!
I don't need anything so the aim is to have a completely spend free May!
I agree with the comments on the Beauty Box talk and I know I have been guilty of that in the past too. It's so easy for us recovering addicts to get caught up in the excitement.
What would people think about making this thread a bit stricter? I'm not sure how it would work just throwing the idea out there?
Then maybe there could be a seperate INS/Stash thread for those that enjoy talking about that?
Or maybe a totally new zero tolerance thread!!??0 -
just popped over to the beauty box thread as been very bad and had two boxes delivered today...wish they were spread out but at least I was in to get them. Also a St ives freebie scrub with £1 coupon.
I used to have a beauty box delivered years ago and it was a real treat as I could not go out much with 3 young children and the nearest town an hour away(still the same) andwas upset when they stopped trading(?universal beauty club?)anyway am loving getting boxes again(LIB and SSB) and think they are good value even if I don't use all the items myself. Also as said before the boxes are nice to use again and any unwanted stuff can go for pressies so not really anti MSE!
I won't post the individual items so as a/ not to bore and b/ give too much away to those still waiting for theirs.
I don't want this thread to get too goody goody as like chatting to the all you ladies about stuff not just beauty.
Decided I need to live to about 100 to use up all my stuff tho:rotfl:0 -
I haven't posted a stash list as yet, but do feel the need to list Ins as I think its good to declare them and justify them as it helps in preventing more purchases. Its also nice to get peoples opinions on wether you should purchase something or not? Not sure what other people think?0

I only get to the shops on a weekend (and not every weekend), the local town center is rubbish with 1 small Dehenhams, a Superdrug and Boots (only beauty counter there is No. 7), The next town has a better town center with Larger Debenham, House of Fraser, but still can't buy a lot of Brands locally (for instance no where sells L'Occitane), so without the boxes wouldn't know a lot of products even existed.
Do love the general chat on here.0 -
I am in again for this month. I don't think that there is anything I need so fingers crossed.....0

It's so tricky...
(I'm still quite a newbie and these are just my thoughts on my experience so far)
I like to hear about exceptionally good offers here. (I also like to cheer people along with not buying.) It means I'm less likely to be hunting around the internet for news of things like magazine freebies as I know anything good will be flagged up here.Last month (?) it was really useful to read all the quick, fairly negative, reviews of the Percy & Reed Glamour giveaway - on that occasion it prevented me from buying/adding to my stash. I probably will buy Glamour for the L'Occitane giveaway this month :j
Whilst I'm here in all seriousness to use things up, I'm also here as a toiletries enthusiast and am keeping my eyes peeled for :money:deals and recommendations.
I feel like I can choose which offers to follow and which to let go. I wouldn't have known about the latest LiB box without this thread and I'm genuinely thrilled with that as mine has a large sample of Benefit's The Porefessional which I've been wanting to try for ages but haven't because I'm not buying make-up! My experience of the beauty boxes has been that they are good value. I tend to average out the contents to a price per item (maximum £2 per item but most boxes have more than 5 things so it's usually less) and consider whether it has been :money: or not.
Kaz - your question is an interesting one. I've had a surprisingly high number of 'hits' in my boxes. Along with the HG Weleda body oil, I have found a potential HG moisturiser via a beauty box (Caudalie Vinoperfect Day Protecting Fluid SPF15). It's the first thing that I've put on my 'will buy when I've finished my stash' list. (Years away! :rotfl:I actually have a 15ml sample that I'm saving for the summer). I received a pre-shampoo treatment that I'd buy again (Leonor Greyl) and have had several full-size things that I love and won't need to replace for years (! an HD Brow Palette, Daniel Sandler eye shadow and The Balm Frat Boy blush spring to mind). However, I accept that this is a lot more 'stuff' to use up :rotfl: (Oooh! I don't really talk about make-up here but the last non-beauty box make-up IN that I can think of was a Lancome gloss that came with a January sale perfume :j I am waiting for a BECCA palette to arrive though, from the SalonSkincare sale, but that is great progress for me
)
I like to hear about the QVC offers even though I've never bought one :rotfl: I also think that posting here can help people think through whether a particular deal is for them or not, as VALM has with the latest Liz Earle offer. It seems to be a case of gaining a bit of thinking time with some offers, or even just the support of a few people here saying 'don't do it!' or being encouraging because it's a good deal on a much loved or HG item.0 -
