A very late joiner to this weeks thread. Thank you for the inspiring lists Dusty.

After a good week last week it has all denigrated into CHAOS. I think I must take a large proportion of the respsibility for this as I am so incapacitated by an infected blister that I can't do th most basic of tasks.

Gibble is everwhere and I have read Slowdown's post with a wry smile. I can identify fully with the situation. I have tried Pigpen's bin tactic but they always slip back into the leave it anywhere but its place ways.

Same here.. but as one of the piggy culprits I just keep going back to it! It works a while and you have to go over it all again

Thank you for the warm welcome back and all the congrats. It's our first one so we're very excited. I hadn't expected feeling this tired though. I hope it'll pass!

Flying has gone well, I pushed myself and managed to do all planned tasks. May not be as successful tomorrow as have hairdressers after work but I'll try!!

Slowdown have a hug, you have a lot going on, if you can start getting a few routines going it will help but I appreciate you are very tight on time. I have a 16 and 18 year old boy myself so I feel you pain. I am constantly calling them to put stuff in the DW, move shoes etc it is very boring but the fatal error is to ever do any of these things 'for them' because it is easier. Good luck.

Kaz I love the idea of you walking the mutt in your pjs.

Off to do tomorrow's list and tidy the kitchen, ironing board has been up since 8am and still no ironing done, there is always tomorrow.

I suspect that it's bad that I've reached my 30s without knowing the answer to this, but how do you descale a kettle? :o:o:o

Won't get much done tomorrow as I have work then Fat Club afterwards, and as I'm a helper I'm never home before 8.30pm on a Wednesday

Bung enough vinegar in it to cover the element (I use distilled vinegar, clear stuff from ASDA, but regular malt will do). Leave it to get the scale off (overnight if it's bad), pour away, rinse, fill with water and boil, pour down your sink to kill bugs and there you go.

Hi All ****WARNING LONG RANT/POST ALERT*****

I never got a chance to get on today, busy at work & DS who is starting school in August was in for his first "rising 5's" this a fternoon (they do this for 3 afternoons in May then into the classroom in June for the afternoon) he loved it!
I am so angry but want your honest opinion if I am over-reacting, I work with 2 x 63 yr old men (who have never had children or any idea of a working mothers life), I was off last Monday as DS had sickness & the runs, I found out today (by way of email from my boss who sits across the office from me) that I had to amend timesheet as I would not be paid as he had to cancel a meeting & it was made public i.e management knew about it and he had to "go by the book on this one"

A - If I was off sick, I would have been paid as I am allowed 3 absences in a year (been there 11 yrs & been off twice)
B - I have no parents, my in laws work, DH works shifts, childminder cannot take a sick child, what did he want me to do???
C - If other 63 year old had been off, I know for a fact my boss would still have went to his meeting as other guy is as much use as a chocolate fireguard.

I understand I am fired up about this, but to put you in the picture, we got a new telephone system put in & ever since, no one elses phone rings, only mine (as per my boss' instruction to BT) and my boss has a terrible, terrible habit of "staring across the office", am not saying its me but its very offputting, & I feel I am constantly being watched, if I stand up he watches what I do etc etc, my hubby has told me to go to HR but my boss has been there for 43 (I think) years and the atmosphere would be terrible.
I emailed him back today saying, I have amended timesheet but on the "few" ocassions my children have been ill & I have been off, I have been paid, his answer was as stated above about the meeting, my reply (by email) "fair enough" wanted to say sooooo much more but resisted, I am not brave enough to confront him, apologies for the long post, I just wanted different opinions, I can take constructive criticism, am honestly at my wits end here, I have also been taking 30 mins lunch instead of 1 hour for the last 6 weeks so I can take DS to his wee thing at school, I offered to take holidays but he said no just make the hours up which I thought was decent of him.

So so sorry for long post but I am so so annoyed, feel I should pluck the courage up & ask to see him in his office :o

Firstly random 'thanks' are due to my lousy internet connection at the moment - I am not intentionally leaving out any of you lovelies :D

    Slowdown - welcome!
Pigpen is the mistress of knowing what to do and knows what works. I however would crack before the bin men came and remove it all and hide it in the loft which worked until I found DD had cleaned her room and was taking bags directly to the loft herself :rotfl:. A softer alternative would be to have a couple of those big squishy plastic baskets, one for each child and just throw everything of theirs in them and then tip into their rooms, doesnt matter what state its in whether it be CDs, game stations, clothes, books, clean washing or what just tip it and bring the basket back down again ready for the next lot. Under no circumstances change their beds or collect up their dirty washing or washing up (and if you have to serve food on plastic or paper plates then do it), theyre old enough to do it themselves. Then should they ever ask 'wheres my ....' you know the answer will be 'on your floor', all they have to do is find it. Their rooms would then be up to them and it would be easier to keep the main rooms tidy. On kids room day according to the list you can then put your feet up or play catch up. Oh and tell them if they want to eat they help out, meal plan in advance, get them to peel veg etc before you get home.

Ok listy, Not a huge amount done - there were far more socks to sort than I thought :p
