I am loving all the talk of bins and untidy children. Mine are 3 and 20mths, and I'm trying to teach them while young. They both love the gtech sweeper and i give the littlest wipes for her highchair tray after dinner. DS carries his plate and cup into the kitchen, and we do "tidy time toys" when the floor is getting covered. They don't much play in their rooms yet as we still have stairgates up for the littlest, so bedrooms don't get too bad.

I think one thing that helps is not having too much stuff. Both my two have little units with canvas baskets, so things can be quickly chucked in and hidden away on a shelf.

I use the bin strategy already, but it's mostly for behavioural than mess related problems. With DS if he is mean to his sister, he either stops and says sorry, or the wooden train set is fed to the bin... It's amazing how effective this is.

With DD, she is very young, but is starting to understand. On holiday last week, I let her walk, and even without reins if we were away from traffic, on the understanding that any hint of silliness, and she will be put in the pushchair. I would just say "are you going to walk nicely, or shall we sit down?" and she'd say "no! no!" and then walk next to me or holding her brothers hand.

But they go to nursery and so are already institutionalised lolol

    Morning All
I didn't end up doing anything last night - ended up having long talks with DH - over the phone as obv he's not here in the week so nothing got done.

That was on the list so you're ahead :D

    Walk with friend done
    WM on
Washing up, sink cleaning and AGA wiping done.

Now I need to be strict with myself and get some paperwork done.

DS1 has his driving test today so any passing vibes very welcome.

:j:j:jStill keeping up. So much happier with house not a tip. DH due home from shift (started yesterday at 0800) and we'll take up the vinyl in the loo and kill those mushrooms. Plumber out tomorrow hopefully to find the problem, but I'm going in with the boiling water and bleach. Thanks to those who gave advice.

Cat Smith Are they edible - maybe those on the don't throw food away challenge might be interested lol (only joking). Yes I had mushrooms growing in a previous kitchen, unbeknown to me, as i had something up against the wall, shading them, and they got quite big, but putting them in the light and bleach defo worked.

Just in, about to hang washing which i put on before i went out. Kitchen more or less done, will give the fridge a going over and sort out the recipe books and get rid of those i don't want. The paperwork did NOT get done again, it made it as far as the dining room table so will try that again. I think it is a definate frog.
