MCI - mini ammonite is due in December so just trying to get as much out of the way as possible. It feels weird to be wrapping so early on but I'm sure I'll be glad it is all done by the time December comes!

MRN - Oh goodness...I had to start using a different post office - I couldn't face all the horrible comments from the pensioners when I rocked up with my eBay bags - I now go to a quieter one which is hard to get to if you are a pensioner! Less queues too! :D Must say though the post office staff in the original post office that I went to weren't much better - you'd think they'd be grateful that eBay parcels are keeping them in jobs but apparently not  :D

LOL I can see what you mean with that.

Just stopped by to say hello and say well done on the all ebay selling and extra well done on the crimbo pressie wrapping. I thought I was doing well just being about 75% done on the shopping front... but no wrapping done yet!!

    BW :)

Thanks BookWorm, I still have some presents to get but only a few now which is great. Need to get OH some things but worst case scenario is they aren't wrapped/bought by Christmas...I reckon he'll understand :)Well done for getting most of your shopping done :)

Also via Camelcamelcamel, I just got a price alert to say something I'd bought from Boots was now £10 cheaper on Amazon so I decided for £10 it was worth taking the original back to Boots and rebuying it. I also had a £10 promotional Amazon voucher so it actually worked out at £20 cheaper.

That's £20 camelcamelcamel has saved me in the last two weeks by telling me two items have gone cheaper. Bit of a faff to take them back but for £10 each time it's definitely worth the time/effort/small amount of petrol.

My pressies are all over the place, i've strated trying to gather them all up (there some here some at my mums and some at the inlaws from when we moved) i said to hubby we should gte them all here, see what we have and get them wrapped, he looked at me like i was crazy lol, i only 4 pressies to buy, 2 bikes (£50 each), a pair of trainers (£10-£15) and a magazines subscribtion (£30) then i'm done.

I like christmas but i also can't wait til it's over, i feel that money saving wise the start of the year will be good for us, we have already spent £220 on weekend away for me and hubby in feb, but it' includes breakfast and 4 course dinners on both nights os i don't think it will acually cost us much as we'll just go to relax and eat, downside is theres no pool :( other than that i will only have basic spending for most of the year til july- when i'll stop saving for 2 weeks and splurge when hubby and kids are off).

I'm acually pretty excited by next summer i could possibly ahve my own plot if we find a good deal (not that it looks that way from my balance right now lol)

Boo :( wrote a long reply and silly computer crashed :( Oh well!

Do you mean your own veg plot Quintwins? That would be fab!

Me and OH went out for a nice meal last night, more expensive that I'd anticipated but worth every penny, we really enjoyed it.

16 items will sell on eBay, majority have watchers. Just set up the final batch to start tonight for 10 days. Have another 4-5 items to photograph and list and then I'm done hurrah! It is a huge effort but worth it when/if the pennies roll in :D

DY paid up their £75 which was very welcome. That's gone into Christmas fund which I think will actually be sufficient for the remaining presents I need to buy which is blinkin' fab as we won't have to use any more wages for that. Only got a few more bits to get now :) Between that and what I've already got plus any extras from eBay, who knows I may even have spare cash but I won't get too excited yet!

Paid off the credit cards too - its never a nice job!

Need to be quite frugal on the food spends, hoping for sub-£15 this week which should be do-able if we're strict.

That's all folks, have a good day and don't spend too much money!

  • Feel playing catch up today on my diary reading!

I agree about the post office, they look a bit grumpy, I think, surely you want the work! I usually have a laugh and a joke so feel I can return but do 2 different ones so they dont think im a nutter!

I always feel for DD2, birtthday in Nov, so when Im buying bits for christmas for all 3, try to not use for her birthday so she still gets lots of little gifts to open. DD1 does well as her birthday is time just after sales.

Lots of zero birthdays next year, BF's, dads, mums, mine, which are always that bit more expensive and require that bit more of an effort. Not sure what to do for mine, DH had a parachute jump for his zero.

Thanks! I feel quite organised but in my mind, Christmas is happening on 1st December so with that in mind I feel really behind!

Ooh do you not fancy a nice spa break or a weekend away in a really posh hotel? Think that's what I would do. Definitely not the parachute jump!!! :D

First seven items ending on eBay tonight, 5 will sell and I'm fairly happy with the prices although wouldn't be disappointed if they had a bidding war in the dying seconds! One probably won't sell and the other has one watcher so may sell.

All items are now listed - 68 of them in total (23 will sell at the moment)- took some effort but worth it I hope!

May be able to get away without food shopping until Tuesday/Wednesday or may just go tomorrow for ease. Will be a small list this week I think but we do need cheese so that'll bump the price up :( Hoping for sub-£20 on the groceries this week.

Waiting for £14 Amazon from 02, £10 from Credit Card #2 and as soon as my DY miles stop pending I'll order £20 Amazon from there too. Sadly they are already spent for xmas presents but all helps.

Don't forget Adpoints folks, I've still got about 100 points to do before midnight.

Does anyone know where you can recycle old phones which aren't worth anything? I've got a Nokia 3310 and old Samsung and short of throwing them in the bin or donating them to a museum I'm not sure what to do with them. I'm not necessarily looking for cash for them (would be nice of course! - they aren't worth anything as far as I can tell) but I don't want to add them to landfill really!

Approx. £18 profit made on eBay which I'm pretty pleased about for the first 7 items.

Now got 63 items for sale 19 of which will sell.

Not bad for having a clear out! :D

Lots of charities accept old mobile phones and agree it's always nice to avoid landfill.

Well done on listing all those items on ebay  hope you get lots of lovely sales :)
