Hi Moneyineptitude,
My loans went from £3000 to £10500 to £15000 to £25000 to £27000, only the last one didnt have PPi on so each one replaced the other in a consolidation, I remember my relationship manager telling me I didnt need PPi anymore and itd save me money but funny how she didnt tell me about reclaiming PPi... Anyhow one loan was never cleared then I went and got another at a later date they all paid off the previous one so the chain is there, im awaiting a response so fingers crossed Natwest will uphold my claim and like Amersall said rather than me have to individually claim on each loan they may, and ideally, will look at all the loans and work out what PPi was paid, what portions got carried over and then what was eliminated as part of my final £27000 loan because id bet a big part of it is PPi accumilation, but ill have to wait and see, Im not expecting it to be easy, dunno why Im sadly always expecting the worse but that does make good things feel so much better, I wasnt expecting anything from MBNA and they suprised me so who knows..0 -
I filled in individual complaint questionnaires for each of my five loans , but I also sent a covering letter underlining the fact that the loans formed a consolidation chain .Banana_Hammock wrote: »fingers crossed Natwest will uphold my claim and like Amersall said rather than me have to individually claim on each loan they may, and ideally, will look at all the loans and work out what PPi was paid, what portions got carried over and then what was eliminated as part of my final £27000 loan0 -
Deadline for Natwest to respond to 1st claim is 27th June, they stamped the claim on May 2nd so thats the 8 weeks up next week, would I be right to presume they are not taking up my claim if I have not heard from them or would it be better to leave it a couple more weeks after as they are likely backlogged then give them a ring on their dedicated PPi line ?
On another note, Natwest permitted 2 direct debits to go out the past 4 days for £291.83 to the same D/D and when I rang to ask why they said their computer systems were down all day and to ring back tomorrow to start an Indemnity claim, totally in disbelief at whats happened, losing faith in them quite a lot lately.0 -
There is no "deadline". If the Bank have not responded to you within eight weeks all it means is that you have the right to approach the Ombudsman. As FOS can take up to a year to adjudicate, I wouldn't be holding NatWest to the exact day and time!Banana_Hammock wrote: »Deadline for Natwest to respond to 1st claim is 27th June, they stamped the claim on May 2nd so thats the 8 weeks up next week
As for their "technical problems", that's a matter for a different forum.0 -
Hi Amersall,
I rang Natwest today as their 8 weeks had elapsed, they said they were investigating 6 PPi counts Ive had over the years with them and would be sending me a Final Response letter shortly as my decision is at the calculations stage, the lady said it looks like an offer is being prepared for what I paid out plus interest so I will post what I get offered as soon as it arrives, thanks for all your help and not a penny to a CMC too xx0 -

Banana, Just wanted to say good luck! Read your thread with great interest hubby is in the same boat claiming back 5 mis-sold ppi's all on one long chain from the Natwest and we have been told to wait till 7th July (they received original paperwork on the 11th april!) Frustrating that he cant call due to their opening times!
All the best will be watching to see how it goes for you! :T0 -
Hi Shirley,
I originally was going to go with a CMC but got bad vibes talking to them on the phone and then I came here and met many great advisors who have helped so much, none moreso than Amersall and I am probably the most unorganised financial person on the planet, but not any more.
I originally wrote to RBS Data Manager asking for copies of my loans with £10 enclosed and they replied saying they didnt know who I was so that lost me a month, they then sent me what I did ask for so I could see clearly what I could claim on and also what Natwest could see so it was an even playing field, my 1st claim was posted Recorded Delivery and they received, stamped n sent it back on 02./05/2012 so I set an 8 week calender alarm in my phone to remind me to ring if I heard nothing, which I didnt, I rang today worried I was going to be fobbed off and after a 15 min phonecall I was told to ring another department at 9am, the lady that answered was very helpful, she logged into my account and said "Your claim is now at the calculations stage and looks like you will be receiving an offer shortly, they will be paying out".
Now they told me they were assessing 6 counts of PPi I had with themselves over the years, I know I have had 6 personal loans with them, the first was without PPi, the next 4 had it, ranging from 4 months paid into to 27 months at different fees per month and the present one I am on now is pure cash loan without PPi but they need to delve into this loan to see if a portion of it is consolidated PPi or not, this I stupidly didnt know myself.
Its a process that hopefully will have a happier outcome because in this day and age money is tight for us all and a few times Ive been so close to going under itll be nice to release some strain off me, my own doing I admit paired with the economic meltdown especially in my trade, but lessons learnt and I will never take anything out again without using a thought process as opposed to when I was in early 20's and could only see what I wanted to buy and not how it was repaid.
Good luck with your claim, Ill post any news of mine as it arrived and will help anyone I can but this forum cant be thanked enough for its help and also for keeping money I have paid for years into PPi out of the clutches of a CMC who would want a bite of it.
No idea what to expect because my PPi for my CC suprised me I was expecting £300 max but they paid me £771 or so that included the 8% interest so my estimates are Ive paid over time about £5000 into PPi so god knows what their calculations will be, I dare not think, but I know for sure it wont be going on luxuries and instead it will be paying off items that bit by bit make each month a worry.

Hi all,
Ive just been looking at other PPi cases and whilst mine are now at the calculations stage with Natwest Ive had a pop at trying to work out what figure they may come out with,
Is it worked out at each PPi premium repaid + 8% added to each repayment interest = Amount to be offered ?
Ie..
Loan 1 .. £105.57 PPi p/m + 8% of £8.45 x 14 months paid = £1,596.28
Loan 2 .. £99.58 PPi p/m + 8% of £7.97 x 28 months paid = £3,011.40
Total on 2 loans alone would be £4,607.68 ?
Or have I not calculated proper ?
Just trying to estimate so I know what to expect to make a decision.
