Hi, you cannot go the FOS until you have made a complaint for mis sell to Natwest, as I said you have the account numbers and the front loaded reason, you do not need to give any figures as to how the PPI was calculated when you pit a claim in.

This is the one request you make for all info they hold on you

Enclose £10 and give them 40 days to respond, send this anyway as it should get you all the info they have on you.

Who do I send this too Amersall : ) my own Natwest branch or the Data Prtoection Manager.

This goes to the Data protection manager
I will keep you posted every step of the way, ive written 3 letters today, 1 to data protection manager in edinburgh requesting records, 1 to data protection officer in southend on sea and 1 to natwest historical records in manchester asking for my records with them, am i basically asking 3 seperate people for the same thing here ? Natwest did say their records would be free of charge to obtain.
You do not need to send 3, one Sar is enough to get the info you need.

My concentration so far is purely on Natwest then once on the move I will then attempt to trace my loans with the car companies etc.

Keep your concentration on this Natwest for the moment, use the front loaded reason for mis sell as you have a very good chance of a win with this, you only have to say that this PPI was put on at the start of the loan and you paid this back to term end with interest, you do not need to tell them anything else.
Ring them and put the complaint in.

Amersall you are an absolute star.

Are you able to work out from the just the 1 loan that I shown what I could be claiming for £ wise ?

When you say Front Loaded Insurance is that what I was paying each and every month for that loan until Natwest moved me to a new loan that didnt have PPI on (they checked yesterday and confirmed this) is it best to wait the detailed records returning before ringing them and hitting them with all 4 loan claims I think I have ? Or ring and begin the 2 already that I have documentation for ?

I thought front loaded insurance meant a lump sum at the start that was to be paid then I repay it over the term of the loan, I was under impression this PPI was like car insurance you pay it for as long as you need it then if the loan settles you walk away from it and nothing is outstanding bar the remaining monies of the loan left to be repaid when they do their settlement figure.

Can you tell from the info I put up of my loan what type of insurance it was ?

    Big hugs for help xxx

I have printed off the letter and included my details now just to find out whom to make cheque payable to at RBS Data Protection, should I win my case id love to send you some flowers (or beer).

The info I receive will it show absolutely everything I have ever had thats been linked to my account or just anything natwest ?

Will it show all the info on account numbers, monies paid, PPI the works ?

    Thanks so much x

Printed off the PPI complaints form too and filled it in and printed 3 more off too for when I get the account details for the loans I had, I will send the 1st one off tomorrow morning and wait the 8 weeks for a verdict and take it from there, Ive already contacted Virgin/MBNA about my card and they are sending my query to the Insurance Team so thats another one rolling.

To be honest im almost petrified because of what the reclaims could do to our lives if we get them, its unfair that they dont already know every customer thats paid PPI and just contacts them but that'd be too easy or am I being daft ?

The questionairre asked why do I now deem the insurance incorrect, to which I put, I was told by the customer advisor that the Insurance Loan protector was a good product to have because being Self Employed if work dried up and I struggled to make repayments then it would cover me until I was back able to make payments (how this would have worked I dunno as once activated it could have run for 2 months, then I had a good 2 months and took it off, then another bad 3 months and back on it...it just wouldnt work) I do remember the guy well because he was asking what I was using the money for and we were comparing cars and joking and he said Id sleep better at night knowing this loan is covered if anything bad happens, which it clearly would not, its a useless product for me as itd never be used but its something I have paid for, all in all now I can see how the PPI really is, its like trying to sell glass hard hats to construction workers, you can see what they are meant to do but their materials wont ever prevent what they are supposed to, just like the Insurance Policy on my loan/s.

You need to put that this PPI was single premium PPI that was in effect another loan on the loan paid back to term end with interest.
Fingers crossed and let us know how you get on.

Do the 2 loans that you have the info for first, it is possible they will find the others that were linked with these,
Front loaded is as you say and yes you did pay front loaded PPI but this is paid back at the interest rate applicable to the loan over the term, had you a PPI insurance on it's own that you paid separately each month then you could have cancelled this PPI and that would not have incurred extra interest and the PPI is ended, unlike the front loaded PPI, if you cancelled this PPI then they would have given you a rebate of the PPI off the loan but the remaining PPI is still on the loan to term end with interest.
