Sorry -- i didnt mean to single you out but it's my second day visiting this board and not many post - other than those arguing and i dont really see the point in asking them :D and i only know one other vegetarian and he doesnt eat it lol

Do let me know how you get on with the chinese cooking! That would be fab!
Sorry couldn't see your original post asking for ideas in all the rubbish that was being posted.

I've used tofu in thai curries and stir fry, and love salt and pepper tofu in Chinese restaurants :T I've just been cooked a really nice tofu dish with mushrooms and red wine sauce, it was gorgeous!

Hopefully this link will work for you, there's 80 pages in the search for tofu on VegWeb ;)

kimmy112, I don't think it's an all or nothing thing. Whether you're worried about health/cholesterol, etc. or coming at it from an animal perspective, you can start just a few meals at a time.

I'm just at the beginning of a pregnancy now, and thankfully haven't had any meaty/cheesy cravings yet, but I get how powerful they can be. Most days, I could walk around with one of those salt licks they use for horses. :p

I hear that alot with pregnancy n cravings.

Lots of people have tried to tempt me with a bacon sandwich, saying such stupid things as "go on, one bacon sandwich wont hurt" or " the animal is already dead"

To be honest, it may smell, taste nice, but I just think of the poor piglet/pig, screaming in pain and sh*ting & pi**ing itself as its throat is cut n having its skin/leather ripped off as its being dragged up bu the meat hooks.
The vids Ive seen show a good % of the stun gun dont work

Life is precious and there are much nicer foods without animals

    Hi everyone

Just another reminder to keep the thread on topic please.

Whether it's discussion about the merits or not of veganism, or pictures of cake that look absolutely delicious, that I'd love to make but can't because I can't cook cakes without them turning out rock hard, please don't post them here.

Also, please don't post telling people to go away, it doesn't help and often makes things worse and gives the Forum Team more to do. If you feel there's an issue just report it and ignore please.

    Thank you!

    Andrea :)

Shame the cake pictures had to go :(

As the thread starter I'm ok with pictures of vegan food. I'm happy for this to be a thread where vegans swap ideas and information. I would prefer that people didn't use it as a confessional and that non-vegans didn't stalk the thread for disingenuous reasons. I'd like it if the drama was kept to a minimum on both sides.

I don't know if that helps or not :o

Well that's what I always thought the essence of the thread was about, you look back over it and there's all sorts of info on here and support for like minded people. Everything was fine until a few keyboard warriors jumped in here when apparently another thread was locked.

Andrea - there are plenty of other pictures in this thread, along with recipes and product information that may now need pruning out if it's all now deemed off topic. Shame really as it was helping us to save money by swapping tips and ideas! :(

Oh and as for that cake recipe, it works perfectly every time even in my broken oven ;)
