 I used to get sinus infections all the time (3-4/year), and stopping milk made a huge difference for me, as well as helping with migraines. I've had one sinus infection in 8 years, since ditching the milk. Later, I got rid of dairy altogether, but yeah, I loved cheese, so it took awhile. :)

Hey Paul, welcome aboard and welcome to everyone else too, vegan or not. It's nice to see some people getting good advice and tips from this thread :D

I'm not vegetarian or vegan but have recently suffered the most awful bout of sinusitis ever - literally crying with the pain. After doing some research and speaking to a herbalist friend as to how to avoid getting this again - cutting out dairy seems to be the way to go and believe me I want to avoid this big style. I didn't actually think I ate that much dairy but there are all the hidden dairy items. I do intend to give some of the vegan recipes on here a go.

I just advised a family member who is getting recurring sinus infections to give up eating so many dairy products. I used to get really bad sinus problems when I was vegetarian and lived on pizza and cheese on toast.

I thought I would find it really difficult giving up cheese when I went vegan but you lose the taste for it if you cut it out cold turkey (excuse unvegan phrasing.):p :o

  • Not quite a vegan - I can't give up on milk I'm afraid. It's only really that and the occasional egg that keeps me from leaving my 16 years of vegetarianism behaind and making another step forward.

hi, does anyone know if the morrison's freeform range is vegan or not?
  • Hello! Am vegetarian (and have been for 16 years)...I know it's not quite vegan, but it's half-way there! :j Usually try to drink soya milk as well - rarely have 'actual' milk. Have really enjoyed reading this thread and have got some fantastic tips (especially for non-leather shoes). Love to all xx

re. mycoprotein (quorn) it is not vegan because it is grown on egg protein.

I was a vegan for over 4 years some time ago and the best way to guarantee your food is vegan is to cook it all yourself from scratch.

Been veggie for years and never eaten fish or eggs.......this thread is a really good read and the links to recipes fantastic. Never been into fake meat but going to give tofu a go and try Rice milk and ditch the cheese!

BTW firehorse I am from Suffolk i think it was easier when we had the independent health food shops;) there were 2 in Bury St Eds where I'm from. Have you tried Wing Yip online store for tofu? It is much cheaper there. Also marinating it yourself will give it more variety of flavour.
