How many vegans on board?

I'm in the process of turning vegan. I'm detoxing from animals. I no longer eat lamb or pig and have cut down a lot on chicken and cow. I eat more fish these days but not too much of the oily salmon. I drink Tesco's sweetened soya milk. I should try to find something else because of the amount of sugar in it, but I can't stand plain soya milk. I always hated the taste of cows milk and only had it in strong tasting cereals or milkshakes when I was growing up.0

Agreed that trying different milks is key. I've not had dairy milk for years and years, but I still think soyamilk is pretty gnarly when drunk plain. Rice milk however, hits the spot for me, and almond milk is delicious! (though probably not in tea)
And me - don't really like soya anything much but have rice milk on cereal, in tea etc and it tastes fine.
(The trick with tea is to put it in before the hot water)Make a list of important things to do today. At the top, put 'eat chocolate'. Now, you'll get at least one thing done today.

I used to drink milky tea with sugar, now i am down to no sugar and a tiny drop of milk. Ran out of cow milk the other day and soya was just about ok, I am sure I would get used to it.Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

Oooh I'm going down to Bristol too! I will see you fellow vegan MSErs there. I'm quite new to being vegan so figured that this would be a good way to see whats what, and some of the talks sound great too! There are many things in life that will catch your eye, only a few will catch your heart. Yes, I'm going too - we should SOOOO meet up!
I'm currently addicted to the So Good Chocolate Soya Milk (85p a litre in Asda, next to the longlife milk). Tastes yummy (somehow much better than unflavoured soya milk) and I drink a litre a day at my desk.
Asda also had Cauldron smoked tofu reduced yesterday, so I'm eating chunks of that as a snack today!
Oh, and (no I'm not advertising for Asda) but I was really impressed with their range of vegan sweeties yesterday - strawberry or apple shoelaces and fizzy cola wands. Ah, childhood!Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0 -
