PP I've been following this thread since you started it. I haven't contributed before as you've been getting some great advice already and I had nothing new to say.
But I just wanted to say how pleased I am that it looks like the matter is being settled finally. You didn't deserve what happened to you. Will look forward to you posting when you get a decent car from a decent seller.0 -

Think he's gonna take his mate who's a little nutty in certain situations and a traveller mate who owes him a favour;) Mates going to follow him down in his pimped up fully loaded Land Rover:eek::eek::eek:
Should we just take the tax off and cash it in?

Thank you for taking the time to reply and your kind words are appreciated. TBH, we had come to the conclusion that we would just get the work done and take our losses, but maybe we scared him a little bit and his partner said he felt guilty as our situation is quite dire with my health and no money etc.
Thank you all.

Seller has offered all our money back, but won't be able to do till Tuesday. He wants OH to drop to his house, but obviously OH will take a mate with him. Its on the condition that we don't take matters further.
OH is going to call his legal contact this morning and see what he says.
Good news:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j

On the face of it great news, but dont get hopes up to much until you have the pound notes in your hand....I hope that is the outcome!!!0 -
OH meeting at guys house this evening. We've taken the car tax out which we bought last week and the car has been emptied. OH will text the guy in an hour or so to make sure he has the full amount of money as we can't afford to risk going if he doesn't have the funds.

As far as the tax disc goes I'd suggest that you put it back (secured with a bit of sellotape?) before driving the car to the guy's house and taking it off just before you arrive. After all you've been through you wouldn't want to get stopped for not displaying a tax disc would you?0
