Hi
I maybe able to help you with the welsh house situation! When my DH went unemployed they asked me for the mortage amount and the amount outstanding, they may require proof from your mortage company. They may also ask if you ever tried to sell.
Have you approached the council to see if you are allowed to apply for council housing? You can't move to wales due to family in area and DS's school and the services will be making you homeless and you are not working. The council wont shove you anywhere (I don't think) as you now have to bid on properties your interested in.Electric and Gas Predators 17/£700:j:j:j October make £10 a day challenge :j:j:j£155/£3100 -

Afternoon all
i've been very slack coming on here! Finances are all over the place atm and this morning i applied for IS. Dh's wages will go into my account for one more month (was too late to change it for this month) and i need to give him enough to live on for another month until he sorts out wages into his account and i sort out IS. I didn't tell them about the welsh house i don't know why
they asked if i owned a house and i panicked and said no! they are sending a statement out soon so i can 'fess up there i guess. I was just so worried they would say no we can't help that i lied. I feel awful. So will wait to see when it comes through where i can change that and what it will mean for me. Haven't tried selling recently so not sure how that will affect me? I did try a few years back but had not one viewing in the whole time. The time before i tried i had a few viewings but nothing of any proper interest! But of course they could just think i was lying. Oh well will cross that path when we come to it!
As for the living arrangements, at the moment dh (not sure what to call him lol i swing from dh, to ex to all sorts of profanities!) is not working so he has had the kids over to his room to stay. We've had a few days out as a family but i honestly can't stand being around himi find myself getting emotional & angry and just want the day to end. So have decided that although probably best if we were friendly towards one another, right now it's too painful so kids will just have to see us separately. I feel selfish for thinking this & being this way but it's tough.
My ds1 is being his usual moody self which is helping noone and he's had me in tears several times these last few days. DD & DS2 being ok although a little naughtier than usual but guess that is to be expected.
I need to get in touch with some sort of housing people where i want to live. I've no idea how to go about it. Welfare were lovely but i think they wanted us to try and sort out our differences and so won't be in any rush to get me out of here and split up from dh. I feel stuck between a rock & a hard place. Transition periods, between the old life and the new. Hard times just waiting around, i want to get the ball rolling and have no idea how! Oh well. Anyway i shall try and get on here more often i feel bad for abandoning everyoneMORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. Hello my lovely, please don't feel bad for not coming on here, you have enough going on as it is to make you feel guilty, although you shouldn't. We just want to know you are ok and be here for moral support when needed.
Don't worry about the house, it can be righted on your form and if they think you lied what does it matter as long as you tell the truth before they find out about it. However, I would tell them about it as soon as humanly possible as otherwise it is just one more thing to stress you. You don't make money on it so its not an income generator.
The kids are bound to play up as its the only way they have to show they are upset too. However don't feel selfish about insisting they go out with their dad on their own. It'll stress them out more to see you fighting/arguing all the time and even if you just aren't getting on, they will pick up on that. You will also end up disliking each other more if you force yourselves into these stressful situations.
I would contact the housing associations/council for the area you wish to move to and ask them for advice.
Hope things improve soon my lovely, keep your chin up, it will get easier xTargets

ahh thanks pinot
and granny i found it! along with a form that i have just printed off. I think i will take the form to welfare, get them to write a letter stating why i am applying from out of the area. Otherwise i will end up with a back and forth thing going on that lasts months so would rather send off what i can to get my application moving ! xx

The DWP do not care about the income from the house in Wales, they care about the equity in the property so if the equity is under £16,000 then you will be fine.
They will ask for proof in the form of a mortgage statement and they will then get their own valuation although sometimes they use yours so it might be best to get 2 valuations so you can base your answer on this.
It is best to own up asap as DWP/Local Authoritys have ways of finding out info on people - this is why people with secret bank accounts think they can hide money - they do not realise that banks inform the DWP of everyones bank accounts!!!
Thought you came under Colchester BC,if that is the case to register for housing you have to use www.gatewaytohomechoice.org.uk .
If you are under a different council just ignore me!!!
You will have to declare the property in Wales and they might say that you do not need a council house as you have a home to go to (some councils are stricter than others in terms of the childrens schooling etc and it does not matter where the property is)
Any questions give me a shout0 -
Thanks EE
i am going to wait for the 'statement' to come in and then amend it accordingly for the house in wales, would like to start out anew with everything kosher! I'm in colly you are correct
although i refuse to stay here! Hate it, Hate it, Hate it
Want to move back to lincs but it's such a huge place i think there are different councils for different regions so was getting a little confused  ! i *think* i've found the right one now lol but not 100% certain the times i lived there before i lived either in my own home or with parents, have never needed council reallyMORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000.
