    oh no,
send it Reiki - I did that with my last one a few times and it was easily and cheaply fixed - and gave me a few months warning to save for a new one

  • O.K, well i just had my first real test of whether the budgeting was working for us or not  the washing machine is well and truly broke-ed :( i called up several repair places and asked them to quote me on the error code, and most repairs were £120+:eek::eek: a few refused to quote me without seeing it, the others i had to badger lol. But i'm glad i did badger them as more than 2 quoted above that price ....

so I went to my online bank and the 'panic' fund had £97 in. :o:o:o AND is owed £200 :D (oops) so enough to buy a new one if there were funds in there :rotfl:

luckily the car fund still had £160 so i raided that (meaning to pay it back on payday, with the money that was ear-marked for panic funds)

SO i have a brand spanking new washing machine on it's way to me tomorrow :) AND i didn't have to buy the cheapest one either, i got a 8kg drum and it was rated in the top 10 of some which survey thing :D:T so very happy with that and we even had money to get it delivered tomorrow too! Is it a little bit sad i'm really looking forward to my delivery :D

Tonight i have a sponateous date that has literally been organised in the last 5 mins. With wine, chocolate & a friend :D so feeling better......just hoping number 3 is either your car SLM.......or DD's nose accident on friday :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: and that i am NOT due another mishap :eek:

You should not get an Overpayment for Tax Credits last year as long as your DH did not earn more than £10,000 than what you had stated.

The difference will be in this year but if when you get the notification for this financial year if they have estimated DH's earnings as similar to last year (when he got bonuses) you can call them and give them a revised estimate and this will then increase your payments again.

You can so your own DMP - there is a website called CashFlow which is a Government scheme to encourage people to do their own DMP's and you can also speak to an adviser or you can use the CCCS website to get the financial statement and then contact your creditors yourself.

My DH is doing his own DMP, at the moment he is paying £1pm to each but this will increase shortly.

All his creditors accepted on the first letter.

I prefer self DMP's because if you want to pay off smaller debts you can do so and nobody cares whereas when you are with CCCS they have to treat everyone the same.

If you need any help let me know

    Hi DFW

Remember I'm self managing my own DMP if you have any questions:D.

Although, I can't say it was as straightforward as everyone accepting my DMP on the first letter:o. xx

i guess once you have paid little debts off you will have bigger payments to the remaining, so they might like the idea more?

Hope new washing machine is lovely :)

I once broke our tv years ago - there was a lot of negative news on at the time about deaths of young children and my young daughters were constantly putting it on to see what was happening now, I asked the angels to surround the tv and stop letting negativity out of it. It gave up there and then!
I have never admitted to hubby what I did. It went for repair and was gone 10 days by which time the news had moved on. The repair man said it was the funniest thing because a small valve that never in his 40 odd years of repairs had never seen needing replaced was what gave up.
  • Afternoon!!

Right well i'm hangover-free :T ! lol :rotfl: So thought i would come and update on my day!

Been to breakfast so spends today= £3 (for tea & brekkie) £0.85 on a can of diet coke :eek: & £1.50 on a slush puppie for the kids - was so hot i had to buy them & me something whilst we were out, i'd taken the dog for a walk and forgot to bring a bottle of water- so that will teach me lol

It's a beautiful day here and hoping it will last till i at least do my washing and get my clothes dried lol. The washing machine is lurvley! Much bigger than my old one (the drum) so i can get loads washed at once :D

PAYDAY tomorrow :T it has been a long old month so roll on tomorrow when i can get the finances sorted once again!

I've just received an email from ds1 school, he has been invited on a theatre trip that was only open to a select number of pupils who showed outstanding musical talent :D *cue proud mummy moment* :D so i will pay for that out of his school money which i put aside each month (and always put aside a little more than we need in case of trips/new shoes/uniform) so that is already there for it.

He has also been told he has dyscalculia (sp?) i was told a week or so ago but i didn't really want him being told in case it impacted on his work and attitude towards math. He has always been in the gifted & talented for maths and is top of the class & got a very good score on his test this term so i wasn't worried about it.

But now i am worried that he may think- "well if i have this then i don't need to try anymore"- if you can see where i'm coming from??! Obviously we were told he had dyslexia in the last year too so i really am a bit worried now as to how he will process this information. I told him not to worry as his dad has dycalculia and isn't stupid. His aunts & one uncle & my mum have dyslexia and they aren't stupid at all (he seems to think he has been branded stupid now he has these things)!

I think he has made it into his school marching band for next year (still to be confirmed but he seems to think he has) and if so i'm really happy with that as they usually only use seniors (as you have to carry a drum & they have to get to a certain standard first). He passed his grade one with distinction last week :T so i have a very happy boy at the mo :rotfl: He also came 2nd in his 100m & 1500m....not quite first but certainly not last and like i told him, we're not all perfect at everything we do!

As for me i'm skiving from the cleaning :D and have nothing left to say now  so does this mean i need to go clean my hovel :rotfl:

:rotfl: i'm sorry i shouldn't really laugh lol but that's quite funny! I remember once my car broke (i know it's always breaking at the mo but this was years ago when i had a pretty good car which didn't break down lol) and i really didn't want to go to this interview and i had spent all night worrying about it and i swear my car didn't turn on that day because of the negativity i was sending out! I had to go to the interview as well because it was set up by the job centre and i'd lose my benefit.....well I couldn't get a bus or train or cab as had no money and only just enough in the petrol tank to drop my ds1 off at his nans and then get to the interview! SO i missed it, and called out the AA and by the time they got there an hour later they managed to switch the car straight on! I felt such an idiot lol!

The next day i found a job that i had for 2 years and had loved so i think it was meant to be ;)

I know it's battles like yours that keep me on the dmp with the cccs :rotfl: i think i am too sensitive to nasty letters & phone calls to do my own......perhaps if i can get down to just a couple (4 at the most) creditors i will take a leap and do it :T

    Bless you:p.

It's tough at the beginning but fairly quickly the volume of mail and telephone calls died down, and now its fairly straightforward to manage. Good luck poppet xx
