  • Well morning all

I've been to the gym...weighed myself...i've somehow managed to lose 6 lb and put it back on. I think the scales are most def broke :wall:

The car has also died. so dh has gone to work looking for jump leads  this is all we need before the MOT & service are due. NOT! I'll be so angry if we need to get another car battery. The one we have in there is not very old something in the car is clearly draining it on a regular basis :( i so wish we could afford to replace the car. AND car insurance would be even cheaper as ours is a 2.5 l engine. Stupid thing!

Well was paid CHB this morning but i put straight into the panic fund as i borrowed from it yesterday to get petrol and cash for this week (meant to go shopping yesterday but we were drenched from rain lol so wish we had anyway as now car don't work!) So panic fund is owed £100 from next month's budget and £97 from next months food budget (my DR order) umm and also a bit more i think (need to check notes) SO i'm hoping by the end of this year we will have at least £500 in there & also all my other funds are starting to build up a little. At the mo i build them up to a couple of hundred and disaster strikes meaning i need to raid all the pots together and spend on disaster (usually car!) so would like the car one to build up to say £400/500 by beginning of next year and also my gift fund for christmas.

I'm still waiting to hear on the tax credits. I've a funny feeling we will be paying back everything we've had already :(

Ooh that reminds me must make a phone call....be back! :rotfl:

It really would be so much easier without cars i think. Our exhaust is hanging on by a thread and makes a very rattly noise! We know it needs to be done before the holiday but not sure what we will be using to pay for it yet?

  • Ok phone call made & email sent confirming phone call, and I have a new Tenant :D She doesn't move in until the end of July but she is sending me a holding deposit (which will cover the mortgage) and then paying the rest on the day she moves in. So i will have the mortgage at least sorted until september and then i can call the CCCS in September and up the payments again :D

I won't be able to pay what we were paying if our tax credits stop but i'm hoping we can higher the payment by even a little. Our current DMP plan states if we carry on with these low payments we will be looking at a DFD of 12 years :( where as paying £500+ is only 2-3 years away. Really hoping tax credits don't stop now...........!

  • I also feel like stopping my DMP sometimes (so someone please talk sense to me lol) i have 4 or 5 catalogues where the most expensive is £250+ now and the lowest is £90+ i was wanting to pay those off in a one-er and then use the money i pay them each month to put towards the higher debts. But the CCCS won't let me :( i understand why. But i don't agree. I want to get rid of a few creditors to give me a boost and think to myself, well i've got rid of half only 5/6 left to go. So am thinking of doing it myself but then i'd have all the hassle which i don't really want hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

They obviously do it for a reason and it must work that way. I however understand your thoughts though. Could you stop your DMP pay some off and then go back on it again with just a few left? Would you still need DMP with rent coming in or could you manage paying back normal payments. I am not encouraging anything though especially as cars etc keep going wrong - would not like to see you in a bad place money wise.

Your meal plan is looking good, i tend to stick to same old, same old!

This is why i dont have a car, its expensive to keep it running. I wouldnt know where to start with mots, services, insurance, tax etc

I think stopping your DMP would cause you more worry and unneeded stress, unless you think you can handle it.

Good news on the tenant also
