Totally agree re tax credits - we were overpaid and earnt slightly more than expected but not that much. I renewed the other week and got 2 payments this week? Not sure how - surely i am now overpaid even more - makes no sense!
Not sure what to suggest re your DS jumping fences - heavy shoes lol. Definately think if chocolate is what you need and it will cheer you up, you should raid change pot - either that or have a hot chocolate and see if that worksMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Busy is one word for it. Absolute nightmare is another 2 words....!
So yesterday, 10 mins before nursery run time dd decided to stick a plastic thing up her nose. SO 9 hours after we first got to the hospital i ended up in theatre with her ...i had to hold her whilst they put her to sleep and it was awful. Luckily she was only under less than half hour but it was truly one of the worst things i've had to witness with the kidswe got home after 10pm last night and have both been exhausted all day. Thankfully she has no other signs of trauma from it though :rotfl: :T
SO today i have £1.10 in the bank (i've no idea where the £1 came from but i won't moan!)
I tried to order from asda for tomorrows delivery as i had a free delivery code. What the email did not tell me was that it was for an order of £50+. I don't have £50 plus, so i've worked out it will be cheaper to put £10 in petrol tank (again :mad::mad:) and then go to aldi for a small top up shop. What i had in the basket with asda wasn't very much anyway and it came to £30! so would rather just go to aldi! So all being well Monday morning i will go shopping after dropping dd off at nursery!
Today i walked into town as needed to bring library books back, got the kids a few new ones. Bought some butter for cakes (55p) and spent £1 on dog treats & another £1 on treats for kids. so low spend day today. Have had lots of NSD's lately but haven't kept count! At a quick count up it has been over 10 this month so will add 10 to sig for end of month.
Next month we have ds1's big day at school to budget for, car service, car insurance renewal, pet insurance, and i want to put £40-50 away for school uniforms (mainly shoes as uniform can be purchased cheaply). Will also hear about tax credits in July i expectand not looking good so far. Thing is it looks like dh has earned loads but most of the 'extra' is from bonuses he was due
so we won't get that this year and so are going to be very short!
The prospective tenant i have seems keen still so i will contact her monday and organise her giving me £250 holding fee (half the rent) then end of july i will receive the rest when she moves in. This will at least bump figures for Most of july to help me out. Just hope she hasn't found anywhere else now whilst i've been a bit side tracked this weekend/week!
DH is also not off with work yet, his dates were changed last minute yesterday so now he goes in 3 weeks time. Thankfully when ds1 is home so hoping i can continue with gym in mean time and when ds1 home also go then if i can get him to look after the kids ok. On the subject of exercise & health, i have lost 5 lb so farbut fear i may put back on some as i was literally starved yesterday whilst at hospital! (had £1 in my purse! )
Anyway dd asking me to colour in something so best go, only so many times i can say 'in a minute dear' :rotfl:MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. Good afternoon,
well today we decided to visit the beach as the dog has never been before. About 2 miles in to it (and 2 miles from shelter, the car, and the umbrellas safely locked inside it) we got caught in the heavy downpour. ........2 hours later and I am still drying off and feel cold through to my bones  !
We put £10 in the petrol tank today. So have £40 in cash in my purse until payday now, don't really want to spend it all, but we are actually completely out of everything. From bread to milk & butter the poor fridge is looking sorry for itself! Today i need to make a meal plan for the month ahead. Need some cheap meal ideas so will scout the OS boards in a mo
Must also go through spreadsheet as keep putting off- mainly due to the fact i don't want to depress myself any further about our monetary situation at the moment!
Need to catch up on diaries too, this place moves too quick for meMORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. Going to buy everything that isn't fresh in the first week (and if it can be frozen and is fresh will buy that also!) that way we can't go hungry in the last few weeks like we did this month lol!
