  • morning,

Am feeling thoroughly fed up today :( not quite sure why apart from all the usual carp :( just want to curl up in a corner and hibernate.

Just checked bank there is around £30 in there from cashback and expenses from dh's work. Will try not to spend this as it's payday in 2 days and we have enough food etc in. DH has told me he won't stop smoking, even though the smell of it is awful :( and i can't stand it. I also am very asthmatic and when he has got in from having one my chest immediately goes tight ... seems he doesn't really care.

It's my meditation night tomorrow, was really looking forward to it, so i hope i've shaken this horrible mood off by then. I was in bed by 9pm last night and it didn't help!! so not tiredness lol

I've been making a list today of things we need for the house:

*Parasol for outside last years got broken in the wind when it blew across garden. (now is this a need for kids in sun or a want hmmm)
*still need loo seat!!!! Cheap ones are rubbish we keep breaking them!!! (honestly we're not all obese)
    * microwave (have decided we can't live without one whilst dh is at work as he comes home at odd hours then has nothing to heat his food up so has eaten all sorts of things cold ewww)
    * food umbrella type things for putting over plates of food to stop flies getting on (anyone know what the heckas i'm on about ) lol

    Sure there is more.....

Car is driving me mad, making a noise like it will spontaneously combust if i even dare to look at it the wrong way again or say anything mean about it  and then added to that the washing machine is getting louder and louder by the day  def something wrong with it so do i get a washing machine fixer man out, check out google and attempt to fix myself or just save for a new one. How many washes should they give out before threatening to fall apart??? i would guess the washing machine has done around 1500 washes for us in 4 years.....i was expecting at least 10 years and 10000 washes lol i'm now guessing this is unreasonable :o !!

Weather has decided to reflect my mood today. utterly bl00dy miserable so staying in today. Too cold for me!

Oh and dad has rung the man i get to show the prospective tenants around for me has been too busy answering the phone for my business rather than my dads :o and it's my dad who pays him. Oops. So had to change ad and put only available for viewings 11-4. that's going to draw them in -not!

Think they are just called plate covers. wilkos used to sell them not sure if they still do, also check places like argos, the range. they may do them

Not good hope you can get it sorted soon, or even better get some tenants in [/QUOTE]

Can i ask a strange question - our neighbours were supposed to be moving as the landlord was selling up - unfortunatley for us the buyer of the house wants to rent it out to the same people. Would you want to keep hold of the tennants even though it has not been looked after for the past few years and the tennants do drugs quite openly, or risk not having any tennants for a few months?

We were hoping for new people but i guess they see it for the money - not being a landlord i am not sure which way i would go - just interested in your opinion really

I really hope you feel more yourself soon :)

Sorry you're feeling down I hope tomorrow is a better day. Lakeland sell the food covers you're looking for, probably not the cheapest but might last better than the really cheap ones.

  • Mandz- we have the smallest garden i've ever seen lol, the shady spot is taken by the trampoline...the rest of the garden only has sun up to about 4pm but obviously that's when the kids want to play out....i really can't wait to move!

I'm feeling a little better today :) and realised now we've contacted the CCCS there is no rush to get a tenant (i.e just 'any' tenant!) and i had another early night so maybe i was lacking a bit of sleep. Not really helped when every night i'm woken by either a 2 yr old a 3 yr old or a 10 week old puppy!!! Looking forward to the meditation evening tonight (well tbh it's half hour meditation, 2 hours chatting :D)

SLM- I would never openly take on a tenant who was less than perfect :rotfl: of course my judgement seems to be impaired because i have a whole catalogue of disastrous tenants....do you think the new buyer knows what they are like? Or did the seller tell the new buyer that they were model tenants, paid on time and were no trouble??? Wouldn't surprise me if the seller is telling a few porkies there for a quick sale! I expect if the new buyer were to come down unannounced and see the place it might be a whole new story there for the tenants (and if they are bugging you i'd be finding new owner and writing a letter :p)

Thank you piq...yes i bought cheapo ones before from poundland and were really carp broke straight away...we don't have a lakeland here so i might check out wilko first like mandz suggests and if no joy (they never seem to have stock of what i want lol) i will scour the internet for a free delivery code :rotfl:

Right well dd has her nursery photos today- was supposed to be yesterday, but we rocked up with un-ironed dress (very blatently so to) hair scraped into a bun (and not brushed :o) and yoghurt all over her face so i begged for her to be done today ! So today she has a lovely dress on, a plait, a clean face and looks angelic :A so i'm now praying they do her pic before she gets a chance to get filthy at school again !

NSD today, was supposed to be yesterday but wasn't in the mood :rotfl: so i got us sausage n chips from chippie and chocolate. kids loved me, think even dh may have done for half hour before i started moaning at him again :D

Picking ds1 up on friday morning now, was supposed to be thursday but he has a concert. I'd love to go but i turned up last time to one with the 2 kids who weren't interested AT ALL. i ended up in the area just outside the hall for the entire performance :( so rather than be frustrated with them i will have to go see him another time :( as have no babysitter. And on friday DH can pick him up with us so we are going to bring Duke to him so he can meet. Should be nice :)....still a little gutted we can't see his concert though. I feel like sometimes him being at boarding school means i have nothing to do with his education at all. I don't liaise with his teachers, or speak to his friends parents. it's awful i can't understand how people actually choose boarding school over a good comp.

Anyway might be back later have nowt to do as waiting patiently (or not) for payday. And kinda lost my mojo for selling on fb last few days lol (sure it will be back soon enough :p)

Thanks for your opinion - i think there mayhave been some little white lies going on about model tennants. They pay on time as are paid through benefits so probably go straight to them, not sure though.

Enjoy the sun and your night :)

  • yep i bet there were a few lies, i can't imagine any landlord would like people like that in their house! I had the dog couple in mine and they paid....when they moved out i was disgusted at the state of the place. If only we could vet everyone thoroughly down to cleaning habits, party habits & how much money they earn. We could def get model tenants then lol ;)

Well i've pm'd everyone on fb who asked i save things for them that i'm selling on there. They all wanted it saved till payday which is tomorrow....so am trying to see if 1- they still want it. 2- when they are coming as i'm not holding the items forever! :D

No more emails from prospective tenants :( going to concentrate on this next week though. Having a lil break from emails, phone calls & networking  i don't know how people do business this way for a living. I'd rather meet in person, i become a nervous wreck when i have to speak to someone over the phone :rotfl::eek:

Off to catch up on everyone's goings on now! :)

My reiki has all been paid off to her and only 2 weeks until i can get started on that :T !

Payday tomorrow and i will be in and out all day so if i don't get to come on here it's because i am tucking into a lovely breakfast buffet at the local carvery :p;)

  • Evening, :)

i'm currently nursing a hangover :( so feeling a tad delicate! However, thought i should pop on here as haven't been on in a few days. Payday arrived, ds1 is home, we've overspent this week  and so am hoping to claw back some spends over the following weeks after half term!

We're also hosting a bbq/jubilee party tomorrow although everyone is bringing some food and their own drinks so costs haven't been too much, but it wasn't budgeted for so we have spent around £40 (had to get charcoal and stuff in too) also going up north for a few days at the end of the week and have vet bills to pay on Tuesday, so spends still to come

Have added into my budget a little fund for puppy, not sure how much it will cost each month to feed, groom & insure him yet so have put £40 aside hoping that will be plenty but we will see!

Had 2 lots of people look round my house, 1 said it was too small, the other said they would take it if we put white goods in. Well i have no money to do this, and also my house is let as unfurnished so therefore i would have to let the council know i was now letting as part-furnished and would be charged accordingly on the council tax. So i told them no....! so house is still empty. It's still being advertised though so hopefully someone will come along soon :)

Right my head actually feels like it will explode so i'm going now and will be back with a plan (hopefully) for the rest of the month by the time half term is done! And a plan to save some money :)

Oooh and i have just been paid £100 cashback :D from Npower! They told me it wouldn't go through as i cancelled and then went back with them (and got high street vouchers instead remember?) but i checked my bank and lo and behold £100.84 had been paid in :T have transferred straight to savings BUT i may need to withdraw and use to cover overspends of this week :( but will leave it there for now and see how i do ..... :)

    ta ta for now x
