:j I can't wait! :D I'd like to stick around I do feel very wary of posting when I'm debt-free though and others are still struggling (as I have done alone the way and long before finding here) i'd feel like I was rubbing their noses in the fact they are not debt-free yet, will have a think on this?!

I used up a left over stew last night.........which turned out to be a left over curry :rotfl: was nice though :rotfl:once i'd figured out why it smelt so un-like a stew as I was re-heating it :rotfl: *d'oh*!

I don't use special shampoo per-se but I do use a well known dandruff shampoo. Since starting on this journey i've had so much stress along the way i've developed a horrible scalp condition which means my scalp often bleeds and is so sore, it's not dandruff but the shampoo works very well, i've tried all the shops' own brands' and none work, some just make it even worse and I feel so embarrassed going out anywhere (as well as very sore) as it's worst around my hairline, so I've been using it for the last 3 months and it's gone in to remission again :T so it's one area I refuse to compromise on ;) us women and our vanity hey :rotfl: i have found them on amaZon though for £9 for 3 big bottles, considering they are £4 odd for each bottle in say @sda I thought it was a fab deal :T

Another one here using up freezer supplies too :rotfl:2 days to payday!!

  • Morning all!

Today i'm hobbling around like an old lady, I've hurt my lower back :( it's so sore I can't bend properly or walk without it hurting. It was hurting the other day but more of just an ache, DH rubbed it for me as I was nearly in tears and he's made it worse? :( I've got so much to do and it's the last few days of the holidays and I can't do anything with the kids. To make matters even worse DH went back to work Yesterday so I've noone to help with the kids. This is so typical! :)

I've checked my bank and the tax credits for the month are in :T, My friend is paying me on September 1st:T I thought she might want me to do a month in hand but no she's paying me a month up front :) she's also putting £30 extra in as the first week the kids are back the little ones are only doing half days so i will be looking after her youngest from lunch time till 6 not 3-6 as planned. I did protest and say I would do it for free, after all my youngest is in the same position so I would have him anyway, but she insisted?!

I've ordered a cashbox from amazon & also some zip lock bags for my budgets to go in :T came to £10 all in :T cashbox was on sale as were the 10 zip lock bags :j I've decided locking the money away is a necessity after I found DS2 & DD yesterday out in the garden giving away my last £10 notes  they'd found my hiding place of money (in the mug cupboard, hiding in a mug!) Thankfully I knew how much was left and could retrieve all the notes :rotfl:or we might have been starving this week as it was the last of the food and petrol budget :rotfl:! So yes, a cash-box, I feel, is the way forward :rotfl:!

I paid my change into the bank yesterday in their coin machine which is free when it's working  (more often than not it is broken!!) I had £10.99 in change :T I transferred this to my emergency funds :). I also went to the pet shop as I had a £10 off a £50 spend. I went in thinking if I don't need £50 worth of stuff then I'm not using it as i'll just be wasting money! I did in fact need £43 worth of food/grooming bits so I picked up £7 worth of treats/food to make it up so I got the £10 off :T Money is from a pot so nothing from the usual budget.

I also went to ald1 i've been craving fruit and veg! Whilst DH is very helpful in doing a lot of the cooking over the holidays he doesn't seem to like using fresh fruit/salad/veg without some coercion from me. He would do a roast for example with the meat over-loaded on the plate, copious amounts of roast potatoes and a spoonful of one type of veg. When I do it, I do a small amount of meat (generally so I can use the rest as cold meat during the week :rotfl:) roasties, 3 or 4 different vegs and plate loaded with colourful veg!! :rotfl: oh how different we are! My body is suffering though, it really craves it all! So tonight is pork chops (from freezer) mash and at least 2 different veggies :D

I've sold an old cupcake stand for £5 which is being picked up this morning :T i paid £20 for it about 5 years ago and i'm bored of it so seemed a good amount to get for it :D. I also bought a pair of clarks shoes in DS2 size last night :T estimated delivery time is next Tuesday though  which is cutting it short for him wearing them on his first day back! If they aren't here I will send him in plimsoles for the first few days. They were £7 with delivery included and I thought a good bargain :T So this year I managed to get all three kids in clarks shoes for the grand sum of £12 ;) (DS1 had his re-heeled, and re-soled. DD got second hand ones from fb page, DS2 second hand from fleabay :T) pleased with that :) The money i'd put aside for it can go into savings now :)

Tenant still not flipping paid. I've given up despairing at her :( will text her later (she never answers her phone if i ring) see what the crack is. Budgets are looking good for September and for the first time in well over a year I have a pocket money fund :T am very excited about this one :D Right i've barbled on enough! Hope everyone is well :T

  • Wow dfw that's great going on the school shoes, excellent.

I'm like you, all veg with a bit of meat, mind you we only have meat 2-3 times a week now. Might add another mince dish once the cold weather is here, our butchers mince is just fab.

Hope your back sorts it self out, we're on the homeward straight of the school holidays now.....normality it just around the corner :rotfl:

  • Just as all was going well, debt nearly gone, savings plan in place (although not started yet) and me with a part time income, DH decides to hand his notice in at work :( I understand he's unhappy but it's almost like he'd thought it all through and then called me right before he did it and asked if it was ok. I think he is a very selfish man and have always thought this, one of his major downfalls unfortunately :( i've been in jobs myself where i've felt sick to the stomach at the thought of going in. But we have no money, once he's left his job we'll have no house as it comes with it. We'll be out in the real world, paying expensive rent with no money. I'll lose my part-time job and it's going to be awful. I'm having a really carp day anyway what with my back (and also a trapped nerve now:() so maybe it will all seem ok tomorrow. But for today i'm very unhappy and have no words for DH. I don't want to talk to him about it, if i'd protested he would have used that as an excuse for an argument and then proceeded to do it anyway. I know him all too well unfortunately. After the very brief phone call DS1 then came downstairs and picked on DS2 so I went nuts and threw the tomato ketchup across the room, covering myself in it and the magnolia walls:( very fed up and can't even go out for some fresh air as too painful to walk. :(

  • well i suppose the good thing is that he has to stay for one year...that's the time of notice he has to give. they will sometimes shorten it but not often. He came home at lunch and the thing that finally blew his top? A friend of his has been sent on a course that DH has been asking to do for 2 years. The friend asked last month before leave and has been granted it straight away. DH went nuts and they told him they haven't given him the posting he wants elsewhere nor courses as they want him to stay where he is and that he is 'dependable' he's obviously not happy but to blow over that one thing? Hmmm. I'm hoping he'll calm down a bit and re-think. DS1 has two years at school left before a-levels and i had never in a million years planned on staying here forever, hence the need for savings as quick as you like! I was hoping to move in 2 years for a number of reasons, none of which are of any interest to DH as they don't directly relate to HIM. DS1 will cope elsewhere in dh's eyes. In my eyes he's done enough moving around and deserves a bit of stability whilst he does his exams. To date he's on his 8th school this year, DH would like to make it a 9th *sigh*. There is no talking to some people and he will do as he pleases, as always! I'm desperately looking for silver linings atm but am struggling especially as i was in such a horrible mood to begin with :o on the up side today (there only seems to be one lol) I will get some cake as i've just baked a Victoria Sponge with the little ones. I could do with chocolate, cola, wine, sweets, and more but will make do with the cake as otherwise i'll regret it tomorrow (or later when the ibs shows up lol) x

  • HI DFW.

Bit gobsmacked at your OH to be honest, so I'm sending you hugs.

The walls will wash so don't get upset about it, I've lost count on the amount of stuff I've thrown in temper, usually OH tea.

I've had disc problems in the past so I can sympathise with you over your back, the only thing that will touch the pain for me is co-codamol, but it does send me a bit away with the fairies, if you have any and can take them maybe have a warm bath and take just before bed.

    Take care PWPS.x
