Just popping in! All sorted with SC (I would recommend them too PB they've been fab with us) and BC definitely paid up :T
Free cinema todaytook my kids and my nephew and my mum and got us all in to see smurfs 2 and still have 2 tickets left
using pizza tokens for dinner...I've spent some money, not a lot though and considering it's our main holiday away (how depressing lol) I think it will not rock the bank account too much (will tot it up later though! )

I'm back from my mum's house
and the heavens have opened this morning. It is chucking it down, so much for the heat wave we were meant to have?
Checked the bank this morning and not looking great . I spent money on food whilst at mum's house. She never has enough in, purely as she spends all her wages on paying rent since the bedroom tax was introducedI bought her £50 worth of tins/pasta/rice/non-perishable items from liDl and a new kettle from tatco. Also spent money on bits and bobs elsewhere for her that she needed (cat food, new washing line, cleaning things etc) so had to transfer £100 from my emergency funds to pay for it all.
. Oh well, it kind of was an emergency she really didn't have any food in. I wish I had a big enough house to take her in! I have £30 left in the bank so I spent £70 on her, which I thought was pretty good :T she was so surprised too as I told her I was just popping out with my sister and we came back with lots of bags for her to unpack :rotfl: (worst bit of shopping in my opinion!)
Our payday is next Friday and I have £220 left from my pots :j:j £40 is from the petrol and £180 from food budget so food this month has so far come in at £420 :T not too bad, well i'm happy with it. I'll be even happier if I can get to next payday with £100 left still to go in my 'future fund'
Other money news: I bought DD a pair of clarks shoes for school for £5 second hand in her size :T they look nearly new :T. DS2 still needs some shoes, searched high and low but none to be found second hand in his size so will have to bite the bullet on that one and get new. May stretch that out to next weekend though so it can come from the September budget? Hmm i'll see....! Otherwise will use petrol money as i'm literally on empty on all other funds :rotfl: Everything else is bought now though for school. I get Child benefit on Monday so I am going to try and put £50 back in the emergency funds so it's only £50 I actually am short then.
DEBT news: Aqua have settled with the f&f :j:j . My SC hasn't been updated online yet though so can't see how the debts have come down yet with this months payment and the f&f that should have been paid now. It looks at the moment like we will have around £3-4k left if noone else settles? We'll see though....
SAVINGS: -£100 in the emergency fund as stated already. nothing else has changed BUT 'SHE' has not paid yet (shock anyone ?) So when she pays the £200+ she owes I can use that to top up & add to pots
Soft play this afternoon will pay on my card (usually a tenner for 2 of them) and take my own snacks and drinks for them, will cost me a few quid in hot drinks probably for myself but i've got change in my purse I think. Would have done Zoo play-play as my ds2 calls it (zoo soft play) as it's free for us but we're meeting friends and they don't have zoo passes.
Hope everyone is well, i'm slowly catching up with you all :jMORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. That was a really kind thing you did for your mum, i believe in karma so something nice should happen to you now.
Good news about aqua :j
 about money not being paid, but like you said no surprise really, really makes me mad that people think its ok to do this as though there needs are more important, have you thought anymore about getting rid and getting a new tenant?0 -

:j definitely yipee to the aqua that was over a grand still that debt :T:j
Tenant wise I just find it so difficult to manage the housebeing 300+ miles away from it is no help
I had my dad's friend sorting it out for me but he's no longer able to help. If I get a new tenant I will have to employ an agency to which I will have to pay 10% of my rent to plus all the extras. I know she's a rubbish one, but in all honesty i've had several now through agencies and they are just as bad and i'm still paying the agency when i'm getting no rent  as most of the agencies are a good 20+miles from the house too so they aren't completely on the ball I don't think. Ideal scenario would be that a letting agent opens up in the town and i'd hire them in an instant (anything to make it a bit easier for me lol) but until she leaves or that happens I'm taking the easy route (for her it seems) and keeping her. :A Hopefully my good karma will sort her out :rotfl:
