  • I'm back! Had a good time but have spent a little more than I wanted! Considering I was only there 2 nights i'm shocked at what we did spend  we did the seaside, some shopping, restaurants, parks & walks by lakes/seaside whilst there so we got out and about. I've never been to Portsmouth before so that was a first :). I'm quite glad to be back home to be honest, before any more money was spent :( why can I not switch off MSE mode, even on holiday? Found it quite annoying actually, I was thinking the whole time about how much I had spent, how much I had left & how I could avoid spending more  someone slap me please! It's not like i'd gone to the Maldives (I wish.....). Anyway done now, will tally up what was spent at some point although I have a pretty accurate idea thanks to my obssessiveness :rotfl::eek::eek:. Horrible journey home as there was an accident on M25. Chilled out night is in order, with an early night for the kids! Dinner will be whatever is in the cupboards and I will buy some food in tomorrow for the weekend and DH next week as he is staying at home whilst I go to my mums. He usually comes but we can't take the dog this time as she is fostering a dog that is not good with other dogs. I think DH is probably quite happy to be getting some time off anyway  I know I would be!

Will check banks in a mo, I transferred some money across as I thought we would need it but we didn't :T so it can go back to the emergency funds :). Will catch up on everyone at some point.....just off to do a pasta bake now *exciting*

  • My freezer has broken :( I moved it the other day to make room for the DW as the plumbing was behind it, and ever since it's been broken. Boo. Will have a shop round for a larger one and see what I can find, thankfully I have the fridge/freezer for the time being but that is not very big!

*thank the lord for emergency funds*

What a pain, the freezer breaking down. But glad you enjoyed your break in Poertsmouth. I have only ever passed through so know nothing much about it. Sounds good though. If it wasn't so far I might visit.

Don't forget to try Freegle or Freecycle for another freezer before you spend on another. My neighbour was giving one away a couple of weeks ago because she was moving and didn't have space for it where she was goint to.

Ah it was lovely over there :D I just wish the weather had been a little more Maldives-like :p the kids wanted to play on the beach but it was just too windy and cold :( thankfully that wasn''t our only beach trip of the year or they would have been thoroughly disappointed, eh! :rotfl:

  • PB & Alice, already been on freegle (3 times lol) nothing yet :( will log on later and put a 'wanted' post up...would be lovely if someone did have one. I'm super gutted about mine breaking though as eventually I wanted a tall larder type freezer and I wanted to give my mum my under counter one. Can't do that now :( DH is going to check the fuses first on ours and make sure it isn't something simple. If so we might be lucky :)

--> totally off subject. I'm watching a programme with David Attenborough and he's just stood next to the tallest flower in the world  it's 9 foot tall :eek: it's huge! It could probably eat him if it wanted :rotfl:---->

Anyway lost track there, where was I? Hummm, oh yes, when I was in Portsmouth dad gave me some money to go spend in primarni as it's my fav cheapy shop :D I got the smaller kids new underwear (yay to getting rid of kids knickers & pants with no elastic in :rotfl:), they both got a new coat (saves me money as they both needed one :D) and DD picked up some cheap black shoes which she is insisting she wants to wear to school but i'm not sure they are going to be any good for her feet really (they are just slip on ones) so am thinking I will still need a trip to cl@rks. DS1 got a pair of smart shoes he's been after too. My dad re-heeled & soled DS1's shoes for him so he doesn't need any school shoes :T so literally all I need to buy is 2 pairs of shoes & plimsolls now :). I've worked out spends and I spent only £45 from my bank the rest was 'fun money' already in my purse :D so no where near as bad as i thought *phew*!

I have to pop to town quickly today, a book I ordered is in :) I could have got it from @mazon for 50p cheaper but I decided to use an independent shop to keep the business local. Also have to pop to asda for a few bits and some clothes I ordered (with my nephew's bday present in) ......i'm still not dressed so guess I should get a move on :rotfl:
