Thank you all
I really appreciate the support I get on down days on here (as usually get none at home!) Granny x THREE <
:j:j:j AT LAST :rotfl:
Well today was DD's sports day and they are so cute at reception age! My DD was in the losing group. Of course it's not the LOSING group these days it's the group that got 10th place  hmm. If she hadn't had a certain little boy in there who sat there and refused to do anything I think they may have placed slightly higher  he honestly was just sat there saying, no thanks I don't want to do that  (reminded me of yesterday with DS1!!!) so all the efforts of DD and the other 4 in the group went un-noticedoh well thank goodness she didn't fully understand! And she did so well too
she got all her bean bags in the hula hoops
and threw the Javelin (a foam rocket...) all the way over to the line nearly. :rotfl:
I'm still feeling a bit blah, but I think this is due to the monthlies invading me again. They like to turn me into some monster i'm notI wish I had money today so I could go shopping. Shopping always cheers me up. <
think I need some mse suggestions!!!
Today's post was a Supernatural season 3 dvd. DS1's ...wish I had pocket money to waste on dvd's to watchstill I suppose it's better than sweets to rot the teeth! And he's become quite the expert on supernatural things whenever we watch anything with vampires/werewolves/ghosts etc he will sit there and say why aren't they putting salt around the house/why haven't they got a colt with silver bullets/ oh that is rubbish vampires can come out in the sunshine they just get sunburn :rotfl: hmmm hoping he grows out of this one particular obsession not sure there is a job market for vampire hunters anymore
DS2 & DD were practicing their maths at the table this morning. And this is how it went:
DS2: Mum what is 16+eggs.
ME: ummmm...let me think about that?! Do you mean 16+8?
DS2: NOOOO, eggs!! 16+eggs!!!
DD: oh i know the answer to that it's 8 thousand and 2.
ME: oh right? well done. DS2 ask DD from now on she's super clever.
DD: yes I am
(love the confidence right?!)
DS2: ok well you won't get this cos it's super difficult and hard. What is 9+4+7+8+9 (he just came out with about 10 random numbers:rotfl:)
DD: well that's easy it's 2.
DS2:  OMG you are so clever.

Afternoon, thanks for popping in Penny & Granny
I feel ten times better now aunt flo has arrived :rotfl: Well DH was home at lunch and I asked him what he planned on doing food wise for the month and he said well I will get the meat first so probably spend around £200 on that :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: Ummmmmmmmmmmmm whaaaaaaaat!!!!!!!! £200 on meat???? Oh god, i'm debating on taking over again but he just won't see what i've been trying to say to him. So perhaps I should let him get on with it. He'll have spent all the food budget within 5 mins though :think:
I'm onto the 3rd square of the mini blanket i'm making DD for her birthday, best get a wiggle on really as her birthday is mid-july and it takes me ages to knit :rotfl: and I still need to google/youtube how to do a pretty (but very easy) border on it
DH questioned me about 'pots' again today. Asking what I was 'saving' for. He seems to think I have different pots for holidays, cars, loose men & chocolate :rotfl:umm if only! When I told him (again) what they were for he asked why we needed an emergency fund and a car fund and a dog fund. Good god how many times can I explain this without exploding. Does anyone else have an exceptionally slow to grasp what's going on husband/partner/wife/whatever. It's making me feel like this---->:wall::wall::wall::wall::wall:
I've realised it's that time of year again and I need 3x pairs of shoes/trainers soon. A whole uniform x 2 for ds2 (he has one set only as he's in nursery so didn't bother buying lots). DD needs new polo shirts / cardies and skirts x3 as she's had a growth spurt. And DS1 needs new shirts x at least 3 (he rolls up the sleeves as they are that short) and new trousers x 2 or 3 (he wears these gangsta style atm as they are too short for him ...i.e half way down his butt! I pulled them up the other day and they were like 3/4 lengths!!!) so i'm expecting some humungous spends coming my way *sigh*! Very glad my kids are growing though as i'd hate for them to be short like me :rotfl: it's horrible
So looking at the budget later but I'm going to take a wild guess and I reckon there is no extras for debt busting this month or August so hopefully come September I can get back to normal have everything paid off and start attacking the debt again (and perhaps by then I will have my job and DH will be on board....)!MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. DH is on the phone to tax credits sorting the renewal out (he looks thoroughly impressed by this
)
I've sorted the budget out and need to take some cash out tomorrow to cover food/petrol & kids classes the rest I think is DD/S.O or to be paid as and when the tenant pays again (i've left all the things like car tax fund and emergency funds to be topped up when it comes through) so this way I should have enough to cover everything this month. We'll see though...!MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. Yes i totally understand the head banging against the wall with OH's and money. I think your very brave letting him do the shopping. I would never let my OH do the food shopping as there would be plenty of ready meals and no fruit or veg to be seen! Good luck i hope he manages okMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

So this evening DH is going through his emails and says to me, "I might be getting my inheritance soon". Now he'd told me a while back he was due one but there was lots of legalities and 'stuff' I don't really understand much about before it could be divvied up between grand kids and handed out. DH's grandad passed over a year ago I think now, so it's been a while and i'd forgotten about it (as did he I think). No word on how big or small it may be. So I asked what he planned on doing with it and he suggested 'beer'....I suggested debt and he said 'yeah maybe that would be best' I think we'll see how small or big it is first and decide from there though. From what we've gathered from the email it could be anytime from this weekend onwards that he receives it :T
So that's my mse news this evening folks.

He's doing it this evening/tonight as soon as the money hits his bank...so we shall see by morning how he's doneI'm hoping he does a fantastically brilliantly MSE & cupboard filling job personally. As that means I can permanently delegate it. I hate food shopping unless it's at the farm shop. That's a nice drive, always ample parking and usually only 2 other people maximum in the shop
