Parking Charge, nahh thanks!

I wondered if anyone would be able to shed a little light on my situation.

i work for a retailer, and i was transferring stock between one store and another. the one i was going to was at a retail park. now when i went to go to the back gate, the code wasnt working, so i parked right out the front and ran in. i did park in a disabled space, but was only 3 mins MAX! within that time i got a parking charge.

they are asking me for £50 if i pay within 14 days or 90 between 14-28 days! WOW AMAZING..... :|
ANY WAY... ive looked into it and everyone online is saying DONT PAY IT. ive sent an appeal, and they said they would get back to me within 10 working days, which they havent.

any way i did explain my situation that i was working at was only 3 mins and that the code to get around the back wasnt working and i needed to get the high value stock into the building as it was a security risk. so, unfortunately i did admit to being the driver, which looking into it now maybe i shouldnt of :(

what does everyone think????n e one got some similar instances?

cheers guys

Anything issued by a parking company you can safely ignore.

They will write some quite nasty letters now they know you have responded so ignore them all. Don't even open them as they will be very threatening. You can admit you were driving even in court. What you are defending is the unenforceable invoice.

    Then do nothing !
thats right nothing, it is an impersonation of authority scam, all of it and the characters change from parking authority, to solicitors offering you free advice, court threats, then impersonations of debt collectors making more fake threats, then they go away.
The laws says two things in your favour:
A private company can not charge a fine or a penalty:
Blue badges are not valid on private car parks, in any way shape or form, nor are any lines or bays, they are just guides.
So sleep easy and get ready for lots of silly letters

Same chance you have of winning the lottery. They could but it's easily defendable. I'd love to go to court and defend a case but none of them want to take me there.
