Found this interesting, but not surprising.

Yodel have always had a bad reputation, back in the 80's they were called White Arrow, and even then they would toss parcel's over back walls... I remember by neighbours expensive camera landing in the fish pond!!!
Then of course they re-branded to HDNL, and now Yodel... I wonder what the next rebrand will be!
You should see the YodelHell website, it's rather funny... I was asked if I wanted to work for them recently... ermmm not a chance, do I look crazy!0 -
Although it's 2 years or more since the last complaint on this particular thread. Things have not changed it seems with Yodel.
Like the previous poster, I too live in (or near) Enniskillen and my parcel from Amazon is supposedly out for delivery at Omagh service centre. My item was ordered on Wednesday 9th July, albeit a bit late in the day. However it was ordered via Amazon Prime and this usually takes a couple of days to reach me taking into account transit time from the mainland to NI. My estimated delivery date was Saturday 12th July and this is where things went horribly wrong. Some person in their infinite wisdom decided to ignore the fact that the 12th July is a public holiday here. So the Carrickfergus depot was closed. That little gem came to light when I tried to track my parcel. Now given the fact that Sunday is not a business day one would have thought that the following Monday would be the next day for deliveries. It actually said so on Yodel's website. But oh no, Monday 14th July is also taken as a public holiday here in most private and public sectors. So that leaves Tuesday 15th July right? Well, entering my tracking number at just after 0900 revealed "hurray" . "Your package is on the Omagh van". that timed at 0808. Fine I thought, it's be here early or mid afternoon, taking into account that I'm not the only person awaiting a delivery from said Yodel. It's now 1645 and there's no sign of a delivery. Thinking I might be able to actually speak to someone at the Omagh service centre, I Googled that info but there's just the usual 0844 general number given. Now I object to paying for what amounts to a premium rate number given that my phone package with BT includes Anytime national rate calls and 0845 numbers. So where do I go from here, just sit on my thumbs until something happens?
During the aforementioned saga, I had contacted Customer Services at Amazon complaining about Yodel's poor and indifferent customer service. I'm not the only one it seems. Again with the correct terms reveals that Amazon have received innumerable complaints about Yodel, but still continue to use them. Fair do Amazon did offer to send a replacement order if my original one didn't turn up by Thursday, but I did request that my complaint be escalated hopefully with a view to getting something done about Yodel. So there we have it, an extremely unhappy client of Yodel.
NEWS FLASH!!
Yodel van turned up at 1700. Saves Amazon sending out another order I suppose.0 -
As this past weekend is a public holiday in this part of the UK only, I would imagine that creates all sorts of problems for items being transported from GB across to NI and handed on to a local franchised delivery service. For something ordered late in the day last Wednesday - regardless of Prime, I think you have done very well. The added complication was the fact the 12th July was a Saturday which meant that the holiday covered four days instead of the usual two days and this is what caused the delay, not Yodel. I think you have been premature in your criticism and I have to say I have not had any problems with Yodel in recent deliveries. In fact I can say items have arrived at the earlierst opportunity so well done Yodel.John0

I just know i am going to jinx myself by saying this, but i have been very lucky with Yodel. I do a lot of online shopping and only have had one parcel lost by yodel. Luck of the draw as to which driver you get i guess.0

Ordered some stuff from Marks and Spencer Outlet on Wednesday after seeing extra discount and free delivery for orders over £40 - great deal for me as I like to buy token gifts for the staff in nursing home where my mum is a resident- which Mum can give to them at Christmas. Got a great deal bought 50 items which are currently priced at £5 each for £1.80 each when discount applied to standard £3.50 Outlet price.
Now - about this Yodel bunch who handle deliveries for the M&S Outlet within Amazon. Here's what the email says
Tracking No.: ** Est. Delivery Date: Jul 21 - Jul 24, 2014
Delivered via: Yodel
So - ordered 16th July - then email 17th July from them to tell me the order had been despatched and at 10.30am on Friday 18th July there at my front door - very cheerful chappie in Yodel van with my delivery.
So once again, apart for the first time I had a delivery from Yodel which was delayed I can only say they provide me with an excellent service based on quite a few deliveries nowJohn0 -
I ordered a parcel that was suppose to be delivered on 31st July 2014 as per the web site. So I take the day off work and wait for the delivery between 7am -9pm. Nothing arrives, I go on the web site and do a web chat, and get told it should be with me on 1st August....great another day off work and wait around all day...I go on another web chat(as no number to speak to any one is available) they give me the number of the courier they use a guy called Leon, I ring the number and no reply, so I do another web chat this time they take my number and say some one from the customer service center will ring me....9pm comes no delivery, and no one has rung.
2ndAugust still no delivery so web chat again, this time I get told the parcel may be with me on Monday as they can not see were it is or when it will be delivered...so previous people totally lied to me..this is not the first time I have had a problem with Yodel, my advice is NEVER, EVER use them :mad::mad:0 -
Daughter was told by virgin that her hub would be deliverd yesterday by Yodel between 7.00 am and 9.00 pm , she then organised a co- worker to swap shifts , am beyond annoyed the hub has not been delivered I cannot understand why Virgin can collect a Tivo box using collect+ but need to use this awful delivery company. My daughter has bought her first home and really needs every single penny now, am going to help her get a free month from Virgin and maybe they will rethink using Yodel.0

Not had great experiences with Yodel and I've noticed that my Prime delivery from Amazon is using Yodel rather than the usual Royal Mail Special Delivery. To begin with the Yodel Prime delivery is not next day!:hello:v :money:0
