Apparently the dongle works with something called usb_modeswitch. Additionally, Lexmark allegedly provides (provided?) a proprietary driver for use with Red Hat and Fedora.
Could be tricky. :undecided0 -

I suggest you keep trying different distributions until you find one that recognises your hardware out-of-the-box; Fuduntu might be worth a shot.0
