for wanting to run Linux in RAM is that XP is so sluggish.
Nobody's forcing you to watch!I've now not got the time to do as you suggest for a least a week. If I could only get a small distro running swiftly in RAM meanwhile, then that would help with all the other stuff I have to do in the next week.
The clean install of XP will take care of the sluggishness(if this is the machine with 1GB RAM).
No rush, as I wouldn't be able to send you the disc for a couple of weeks anyway.
It was your comment of XP taking an afternoon and here you are days later.
Not a problem. Tinkering with old machines can be fun.
Though you have completely hijacked this thread.0 -
I doubt that you will be able to boot from USB on your machine. So CD-R will be your best bet.
Here is another option for burning images(as opposed to burning data)....Download and install ImgBurn(No need to install the Google Toolbar. Remove the relevant tick). Burn the Image to Disc. Use this guide(skip step 2b) to burning the image to disc.
But Nero can handle it.
You just open Nero Express and choose the option for burning images. Could hardly be easier.0 -
whatever you used has just copied the file, not created an image.0

Huh?? What is this you have downloaded??
Ok, it's enough now. Stop. :rotfl:
Use your Nero package, so at least we know what you are using.0 -

If I'm going to download yet another burner, then I want it to comply with this, as stated earlier in this thread:
"I want to burn it as 'not final' but I can't find that option in Nero. I want to be able to do this:
you can also save to the same CD/DVD that you booted from (Here, DVD works better, but the DVD containing Puppy must be burned initially as "not final", i.e., that more files can be added to it; advanced CD burning software can do this in Windows, and Puppy has BurnISO2cd for this)."0 -

That would be completely silly.Perhaps you are using the wrong option for burning discs. Nero used to have an Image Recorder, so perhaps you have selected that option. You need to point it away from the Image Recorder and on to your CD Writer.
I'm already late for my appointment, so I can't help you in more detail right now. have to hit the shower.
Basically, you are choosing to create a 'Multi Session' disc.
ImgBurn may have that option too.0 -

Not being funny, but I have no idea if you mean that is what I am doing wrong, or if that is what I should be doing.
No, I meant if that were the way that Nero was designed.
Anyway, now I really have to go.
If you want newer software with the ability to burn MultiSession(it is what you want to do) discs, use CDBurnerXP0 -
The real ISO Recorder is here
Now you probably have an annoying ToolBar to add to your woes.Though you have completely hijacked this thread.0
