Just realised that I got a wage rise on 1st April, so my promotion salary should go up to about £50 a month (£34739 - £35520). Yippee!!!LBM 03/07 £44k:eek: DFD 31/12/17 :A 12/17 £2545.50

Started my new job this week and so far i'm really enjoying it. The people have been friendly and supportive and my class are adorable. Didn't get under the 10k on my cc this month I'm not very good at figuring out the whole interest thing. However not to dwell on the negative my nationwide loan now has only 2 payments left!!! And one of those will not be for the full amount. Also my northern rock loan is now under £1000. Really please about that. I've booked to go to New York for my 30th, my parents are paying my flight as my birthday present, not going until autumn so will use loan payment to save as spending money once its finished with in June. Going to start doing the same with my change jar, will put it into a separate account (which has no debit card so can't be tempting to spend it)LBM 03/07 £44k:eek: DFD 31/12/17 :A 12/17 £2545.50

Hi Hope great news about the job I hope you are still enjoying it.
Also great news that one loan is nearly ending and the other under £1000 how good is that 2 debts nearly ALL GONE!!! YAY!
New York? Not jealous at all........:pSounds fab and well deserved and no extra debt to go.... How much things change once we get on this site eh? I guess in the past to go to New York you would have put it on a CC so going without credit I am sure you will enjoy it all the more :j

Hi Mae yes its a lovely feeling can't believe it, you're right i'd have stuck it all on a CC and not saved spends either would've used CC for that too.
Went to carboot again - think its therapy as I feel cleansed afterwards! I made £70.25 so thats some money for New York.
I've been intvited to attend an awards ceremony through my work so instead of blowing a fortune on a dress I bought one from ebay £28! It's new with tags from monsoon. To make sure it wasn't wasted money I bought the size bigger as I know a seamstress who'll make alterations for £10. Feeling pretty chuffed with myself. Also I've a wedding to attend in the summer so I can wear it again (though have picked out something already in my wardrobe as a potential).
Hope all is well with you

Hi Hope
Just checking in to see how you are doing. What have you decided to do with the extra £94 per mth, have you snowballed it or is it ear marked for something else?
Have you got anything planned for the summer while you are off, there is a thread started by Benbenandme about making extra money for the people who work in schools and are off in the hols. Just thought I'd mention it incase its something you have time and inclination for.
Hope you're ok, when do you go to New York by the way?

Hi Mae
The extra £94 is being saved for my trip to New York which is in October as it is going to be a debt free trip! After that I will snowball it, probably into Egg so that I can pay one card of quicker. It should - hopefully - half the time as it'll double the monthly payment I make. I've been busy carbooting and got some tutoring lined up for end of summer.
I turned 30 on Friday and definitely feel as though this is going to be the time for me. A time to be rid of my debts and, fingers crossed, have a healthy financial future. I became very aware recently that when I am debt free I should be fairly well off as my salary is a wee bit above the national average, though if prices of petrol etc don't come down that my be completely different.
Hope you're well.

Well last night was the big night, my birthday party. I has fantastic time and think everyone else did too. This was the first party I've had as it's such an awkward time of year for people with holidays and things. Totally overhwlemed by how generous people can be and recieved lots of beautiful gifts. Some people gave me dollars for my N.Y.C trip and also got money which I am going to exchange for dollars too.
Felt rough all day so heading to bed now.
