A single mis-spelling of an address. It has to be removed or ammended based on the original credit agreement etc. They cannot just ammed it to your initial etc. Therefore, THEY HAVE TO BY LAW REMOVE IT as it is NOT accurate.
So basically if you notify them they have to remove the post or provide you with the data that actually PROVES it is you.
If they cannot prove it is you they do have to remove it...no arguement there. if its wrong its worng....simple and data protection act states that!

Sorry J,
Not having a go. I work with data protection act in medical research, trust me I have had these people on the phone and DCA's and tied them up in their own words. Also, had them admitting tactics againts OFT guidelines (and forwarded the emails to OFT case worker) the people you deal with are call agents at best. even the managers can be very niave.
I use the trail of thought I stress them out. They will not increase my blood pressure and I am not going to stress over them. Luckily, being in china for 7 years (although back and for to the UK for 6 month intervals) does put me in a different position as I use the tactic I am away for 7 years things drop off after 6 years. if you want payments then how does 20% sound or bye bye!
It has worked for me thus far.0 -

no worries, just offering the OP some advice as I was the victim of mistaken identity and its horrible, that you know the debt isn't yours, the name is different in my case yet all the crap still ends up on your credit report, it is very scary and upsetting, so just trying to help the OP and hope they get it sorted'' Ok Marge, if anyone asks, you require 24-hour nursing care; Lisa's a clergyman; Maggie is seven people and Bart was wounded in Vietnam ''0 -
I do understand it is stressfull. However, as you said the OP has to stick to their guns and not back down. it may well be very stressfull in the short term but seriously being a pain in the backside of them is the only way.
Allowing the CRA to drag it on means long term stress which is more harmful to your health. I am sure should the OP starts talking about legal action and data protection act they will sing another tune so to speak.
But for as long as the OP allows themself to be dictated to by the CRA they will take their time.0 -

You're right, you do need to be a pain in the backside and just not let it go...'' Ok Marge, if anyone asks, you require 24-hour nursing care; Lisa's a clergyman; Maggie is seven people and Bart was wounded in Vietnam ''0 -
Well fingers crossed its resolved now, had a call and a email from a manager at Experian saying that they are removing it, and the reason the amendments team did not fine the request from Natwest is because they sent it from a RBS email address and they were searching for Natwest email.
Apparently it will be gone from my report by tomorrow AM, shows you have to scream at someone right at the top for anything to happen though, and Experian's customer service is shameful, apart from the guy that sorted it and the last advisor at least trying they were a complete let down on this.
And as a bonus Natwest have offered me £200 compensation

I'm glad this has been resolved now and am sorry we didn't manage to find the fax when you called yesterday and we tried to expedite matters for you. All faxes are dealt with within 24 hours of coming in and I believe this one was routinely actioned in the end. I've asked that we review your contacts to see if we could have dealt with this better.
