We had a sort out a couple of years ago when DS3 moved into his own home with his GF.
Prime time to sort through all their old school work and art projects. DS1 and DS2 were duly called to come round and see what they wanted to get rid off and what they wanted to keep and remove it all to their own houses.
I got so weepy when I saw them turfing out stuf that I had treasured over the past years of their lives
Best bit is though, my loft has loads of space to store other things now :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:i do think you should keep kids stuff
i'm exactly the same
i would love to see stuff from when i was little and wish my parents hadn't binned my old work
i still refuse to throw away cots and prams even though we have pretty much decided we are not having anymore and i'm nearlyy over the hill....i still can't part with them......just in case :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Makes me feel so much better, cot and carrycot both in loft. Definitely over the hill for anymore. :rotfl:
I do feel DD3 draws the short straw as she has to part with some things at an earlier age than the others, we just have not had the room to keep everything with 3 of them to store things for. But they do have quite a lot of memories to look back at.
I remember doing the same as your DSs altojack, I was lucky being the only one that most of my things were kept for me to have a good reminisce. Feel for you celebrate that you did not get the chance.0 -
Think I'd best go find my bed, knee is throbbing with pain, both feet are stinging and my eyes are tired.
Got an appointment tomorrow for my feet so I'm looking forward to that :j
Night all, see you tomorrow xThere's no place like home
Feeling down? Weak in body? Makes no difference to me, I think of you all when I'm sitting quietly.
Hugs and healing thoughts are always going your way.0 -
That is so wrong  I would have said I'm just doing my shopping I don't price the goods, do the shelf labels or make the policy re overcharging, I have been overcharged the board behind you says If in the unlikely event ............................. I just read it to them till they give in. COMPLAIN to HO & don't do 3 bags or wombles for a while
What puzzles me is that I have used this SA before and he was been perfectly acceptable. But today it felt like he had changed overnight :S and it turned ugly. I didn't turn it, he did with his attitude and cheekily going and giving me cash.
I for once might not complain. Yes I tell everybody too when they have a terrible experience but I might be best if I keep quiet for a bit.
It has shaken me up, not going to lie. Mainly because it got so heated and even getting the go ahead from the manager on the phone he still pressured me into accepting the £6 cash:mad::mad:
He was actually one of the nicest SA there on CS so it's a big shock if I'm honest:(

Whenever I had a clear out of my ds and dd's[STRIKE]drawings[/STRIKE]works of art I used to kiss them before putting in the bin, I know sounds silly and sentimental......have started doing it with grandchildren's pictures now when the fridge magnets can no longer take the strain and it is time for a cull.0 -
I couldn't live with myself if I had let them loose on all of the school stuff. I've kept report cards etc and I've got a box of christmas decorations some made in playschool, oh some of them must be 28 years old or a bit more. They all get hung on the tree or on shelves.
I've also got the pram blankets from my DS1, they got used for all four of my boys, and the christening gown and shawl. They will leave the house when I do I think.
The reports were put in the storage boxes on top after they had a good sort. I did put a couple of first paintings/pics back in. But we limited each of them to one storage box each. Quite a good size one though. Your post made me smile as all their homemade Christmas decorations have a seperate box, I forgot all about that one.And there is another one with all the homemade birthday, mother's day cards etc. Would never have let them loose on those.

Something tells me this may be a one time offer:rotfl:Just when I thought I had something helpful to contribute! :rotfl:
One of my whoopsie stores often reduces everything to either 10p or 1p late late on the evening......theres not usually much left by then of course, but it does make a ruddy mockery of this "we are not allowed to sell anything for 1p" nonsense!!0 -
