Thanks, I do spend a lot of time doing them, but usually when quiet at work, or when kids/DH watching TV. I don't watch a lot of telly.

NSD just waiting for payday - which should be Thursday but as it's school sports day will probably be Friday instead! I do hope no-one else minds. As long as it by the end of the month (just).

£15 T0luna vouchers OP'd to mortgage along with a massive £4.19 fleabay profit.

Payday today so £300 moved to Long Term Savings to replace savings used for ERC, and £125 to next years holiday fund.

Our big news is that we have a massive hole in our kitchen ceiling. It seems that a pipe in the partition wall above has been leaking for quite a while and has now started dripping into the kitchen. When we went to investigate the ceiling almost came down in my husbands hands.

Rang the insurance company this moring and because we only have the very basic insurance policy they will not investigate the leak and then repair the damage caused by this. They will repair the kitchen ceiling less £400 excess. Not even sure it will be worth claiming.

I've never claimed i nearly 20 years, but please be warned that these very basic home insurance policies are really not worth saving a few pounds on. If we'd had a slightly dearer policy it would have covered looking for the leak and repairing it.

We now have to remove the plasterboard in DD2s bedroom, (cheaper than removed the tiled wall in the shower room next door). We've had to empty her room, and we'll now decorate and put a new carpet in while it's empty. It's the same carpet since we moved in 5 years ago and pretty manky.

The girls have had to move in together and DD1 not taking it very well. Had quite an attitude today so far

    Not a good day.

Plumber has been & fixed the leak. No idea yet how much that will cost me. He is sending the bill & a report for the insurance company

Plasterer has also been. Whole kitchen ceiling & coving needs to come down & be replaced, DD2 bedroom wall replaced & it looks like shower room wall needs replaced which will mean whole room retiled. Hope the insurance covers that little lot

Food shopping £8 over budget but included DD1 birthday cake ingredients & some food for party.

Made her a chocolate fudge number 13 which she decorated with sweets.

Thanks for the support liz-paul & TwinnyD.

Have just Opd £10 from fleabag sales - little by little!!

Girls have gone to watch Olympic Torch procession with their schools. Unfortunately its raining so they may get rather wet:(

I was going to take the day off to go but they preferred to go with their friends, so I'm watching it on the BBC webcam in the warm & dry!! We'll see the flame at the Olympic park anyway, but it is nice for them to see it in their hometown.

It may cause problems for me getting home from work though, hope i'm not late to collect DD2 from school, otherwise the panic phone calls to friends will start!!

I am really sorry about the trouble you are having with the leak and the repairs. It was all going so well too.

I am sure that everything will come right and you will be back on track in no time.

Good luck with getting it all sorted.

PS I missed the torch in out home town, but DH saw it as he was in the centre at the time - hohum...

    Hi MCI,

Girls loved seeing the Olympic torch with their friends, DH dashed out from work to see it as well. I missed it in our hometown as at work, and in the town I work in when I needed to be back to collect the girls.

Just finished entertaining 6 teenagers for DD1s birthday party, Had a mexican themed cookalong party and all had a great time.

Made a chocolate fudge cake in the shape of a 13 decorated with sweets which went down well.

Still waiting for quote from plasterer - i'll send a text tomorrow to nudge them.

You're right MCI - I thought now the hall was finished we could relax until we started the lounge next year. The best laid plans and all that!!!

Could be worse we're not up to our waist in floodwater.
