Inconsiderate Caravaners

So not only have you got a big box behind your car once a year, you have a dangerous cheap box that has aged structure and brakes, and your neighbours have to put up with a box outside their houses all year, because you can hardly be towing two.
And the award for the most misinformed, assumptive post goes to....

What a breathtaking demonstration of ignorance there :T
Firstly, I have a modicum of mechanical knowledge (no certificates, but I get by) and my caravans do get checked before they go anywhere. Aged doesn't mean 'broken', many caravans are very well looked after and last far longer than comparable cars.
Secondly, I will be selling my old one once I've picked up the new one and transferred all the kit across (probably for a similar price to that I paid for it - very MSE again).
Thirdly, I have sourced secure, free storage well away from anyone's home for anything and everything large I buy - again, pretty MSE I think.
So ........ next ? :rotfl:0 -
Coming from a !!!!!! who admits they happily overtake brainlessly, with no gap to pull back in, then expect one to appear when they indicate to show they they need one, I put you firmly with strider on your overtaking skills. You both need other road users to save your skin because of your lack of driving skills. One day you may find we won't be able to bail you out, then not only will you fubar yourself, you'll affect me if I'm not careful.
I've not had an accident in 2 million miles. You? Have you even driven that many?0 -

You've already admitted you backed your truck into a car, so I don't see how you think you're accident free? So I guess it's quality, not quantity that matters. And 2 million isn't a lot, what's that, a couple of hundred miles a day for thirty years? You could drive 4 hours a day and still do that.0 -

Good too that you store the thing away from your house. A quick drive down any suburban street will show there to be thousands who don't do this.
Very good, Nice to see there are sensible caravanners. It's the other lot I am talking about, not you, obviously.
As for assumptions: "assume the worst from any other driver" was the best bit of advice my driving instructor gave me. Been proved right time and time again, and some on this thread are just reinforcing that. When you get a break from another driver, be happy and give a wave. Otherwise, let it pass.Under no circumstances may any part of my postings be used, quoted, repeated, transferred or published by any third party in ANY medium outside of this website without express written permission. Lucky you.....fill out my lottery card, will you?
Of course, the question any reasonable person would ask is....'how many accidents or near-misses have you left behind you?'
The apparent number of miles driven..or years held licence, or how big your vehicle is, really is totally irrelevant.
The best instructors are those that have made mistakes....but learnt by them!
Miles mean nothing!
Maybe, hours behind the wheel is more relevant?
Of course, you won't have any more no-claims bonus than me!
sad that, isn't it?No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......0
