Well, I did a bit of a stock up shop of pasta and tinned stuff including about 4 months of cat food (my local garden centre had an offer on 3kg of Pro Plan food for £9.99, which is the cheapest I've seen it, so I got 3 bags), and feel like I've spent a fortune in comparison to the first few months of the year...no meat included in this either, as I'm still running down my freezer to defrost it...dread to think what it's going to cost to stock that back up with decent meat again...

Oh, better confess that my wine rack is also nicely full again...:o

Siggy updated, and I'm aiming for a week of NSDs, if not longer. I have a Waitflower voucher, so if I'm out & about in that area next weekend, I may use it to stock up on salad stuff. That counts as a No Spend in my little world :rotfl:.

Enjoy a lovely Sunday, folks. make the most of it

Morning All. beautiful morning here and last day of May budget, came in 4.2o under and everything well stocked except for fruit, I really want to use up a lot of what I have in as somethings are way out of date, not that that bothers me much, was out of date when I bought it, but I do want to get my kitchen more organised, my arthritis is getting worse (old age eh) and I am having difficulty now bending down into cupboards and climbing up step ladder to reach on top of units,

Off to carboot now to see if I can replace my small slow cooker that i broke.

    Good morning peeps.

    Another luvvly day :j

After weeding my raised beds all afternoon, I would like to sow some seeds that will produce for the kitchen.

What would be the best things for starting this late in May?

    Thank you

    Hi JJ
I think you can still plant salad leaves because you do them every 2 weeks anyway to get a succession of crops instead of a glut.
Please will someone tell me where the June thread is?
Still eating out of the cupboards and freezer :T

Ps did someone say you can freeze carrots if you have too many? Would you cook them first? Sorry I can't find the post that mentioned it

    Morning all!

Today will be a NSD day - plan to get some washing out and sit in the garden. Having salmon with potato salad and greek salad for dinner later on.

Lunch will be a bowl of cereal I think.

It's a miracle I'm fresh today - yesterday was a heavy spend day - all in the sun with a number of bars and street snacks. £4.19 comes out of grocery so I'll add to signature. The rest comes out of my entertainment spend but it's shocking how easily I spent circa £50! It was a very fun day though. Today will be relaxing (haven't really got a choice since my overground link isn't working today and I would need to do replacement buses...), - the birds are making some noise so I'll sit out in the garden with them, until the gongs of the Indian Orthodox church next door drown them out at around 10! :(

Hope everybody is enjoying the sun and remembering to put lotion on unlike me! :o

Very close to my target now with 4 days to go

I'm being v practical today. I have run out of redbush tea bags. It is only myself that drinks the stuff and it's very expensive. I have got the filter water jug out, washed it out and put a new filter in this morning....
    I WILL drink water,
    I WILL drink water,
    I WILL drink water....

    Well, it could work........?

I HATE the stuff but it will keep my expensive tea drinking to a limit. It will also cut down on my soya milk consumption as I get through nearly a litre a day:eek: These purchases really push my grocery spending up as there is no way to cut back on them....
Unless I drink free filtered tap water (which is supposedly good for you)
